Question Moving to Va

Moving to the Caroline county area if this job comes through for me. Can anyone tell me about the area... cost of living, housing market, good town or area within a decent commuting distance to rent for a while. How is Fredricksburg to close to DC for anything to be affordable? Last but not least wheeling options in the area? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I have to look at a map for Caroline county.
I'm in Prince William county.
Fredricksburg is about an hour and half to D.C.
What do you consider affordable?
Wheeling? Just see me when you get here.

I use to live in the neighboring county of King George... the cost of living is going up fast but i think caroline is not seeing the development KG did so it is still low...... you are very close to 95.... kings dominion amusement park..... richmond and somewhat close to DC..... as far as a mall or resturaunts/bars, shopping you will be taking a 45 minute trip to Fredericksburg up Rt17. Fredericksburg is very nice..... a little more expensive than caroline but there are a million places to live in the surrounding area...... caroline has a low crime rate... not much to do....it's pretty much country...
i live in alexandria... i know VA very well and could probably point you in the right direction for almost anything. just ask

Thanks for the reply! I ended up getting a place in Spotsylvania County with a Fredericksburg address. It's a little bit of a commute to work but not to bad. Caroline didn't have a lot of options to just jump into something while living out of a hotel so that is why I ended up near the city.
