I ride everywhere with my quad.... the southwest area is where i am now (blue diamond and durango). south of that is wide open desert for miles. Theres tons of trails back there. Theres a place called the good springs bar in good springs, nv. It 15 miles from my house thru the desert and theres multiple trials that will take you there... instead of going to the bar you could head east and go under rt 15 ( theres many openings along the 15, south of LV BLVD) to the dry lake beds. Or go west towards to the mountains to Pahrump. I know the drives a little long for ya TRE but thats my input. I taken charleston as far west as i can go and found a lot of trials up to a small mountain. We saw snow las year, fun stuff

Becarful where you ride. The only place that is now legal to ride in the Vegas valley direct is Apex. Yes there are other places farther out that are not in the valley. With all the dust laws on the books they will ticket you around close to town. This is all very recent in the last couple of years. I belong to the biggest atv club here in Vegas. The people involved with this club a very active with all the legal stuff. From local things to fighting for legislation in our favor at the state level.
In reference to the Vegas meet post about talking to the BLM don't wast your breath. The don't want to hear about it. The atv club have received fines for having large gatherings without a permit. When we ask who to talk to about getting a permit or where to get one. They go out of there way to not be helpful in any way. The local Toyota club or Jeep club not sure which used to run a organized trail run when the tried to get there permit (which was probably that $95) they were told that the permit was going to cost them like $10,000 or so plus they had to carry a few million dollar insurance policy. Not sure if all my details are totally correct but it was an artical in our local paper last year.
Cool places you can ride that arn't to far a drive. Logandale trails (out by lake Meade) Cold canyon up on Mt. Charleston, There are some tails out by Nelson as well.
Sorry about the long wind, good luck and safe riding.
trust me ive talked to blm directly and for groups of over 10 vehicles -organized event- requires permit which costs 95 for the day and has to be applied for 6months in advance to get it by the date/time.
and ive wheeled with a local toyota club and they post their runs up all the time on their site----------they have not had probs with blm yet...............and i say yet because from the sounds of it they are starting to crack down on it.

I know of a few places. I mainly ride SVMX/BCMX and the same old trails. If you go south of Vegas dr and Hollywood near the water treatment plant, it is pretty fun over there. There are trails and a couple cool jumps. I don't like Apex, too many idiots out there usually. That is all my buddy rides though.
I am not too familiar with what Jean has to offer. I did hear there was a concrete company that made some neat stuff out there. I am not sure though, I've never been.
The 702 dirtbikes guys are pretty cool. I would ask them what some of their favorite spots are.

I've been out there, went camping once. Great view of the strip at night. Theres tons of trails out there. We call it sunrise mountain. It's usually pretty quiet over there.
