Ken Garff Ogden Service

Wow. What a disappointment. Took my truck in for an oil change after a romp in Yellowstone with no problems. Right after I picked it up, dash lights went off like a christmas tree. VDC, Slip, ABS, and Diff Lock lights were flickering and alternating. Quite a show and a distraction. Figured they knocked something loose during the change so took it back. They diagnosed an ABS sensor going bad and sent me on my way to wait for part with the light show still displayed. A few days later was told part was in and scheduled. Even got the reminder call for the appointment. Showed up, sat for 45 min, and was told the part crosss shipped and actually didn't show up. Had to wait again, light show still going. Called again that part had arrived and scheduled repair. Took it in and waited 2.5 hours for repair. When I get to the truck, got a half inch wide six inch long line of grease in the middle of the driver's seat bottom (no they didn't use seat condoms). I was pretty level headed about it and just asked them to clean it up and to please rethink the use of bags for the seats during rourine maintenance as well as repairs. They brought out a squirt can with a foreign fluid and proceeded to make the spot even larger, telling me it would dry. I had to get going on a 500 mile road trip. About 175 miles into the trip, same ol' light show. Long story short, took it back and asked for a rental until proper repair could be completed as well as a new seat bottom to replace the now stained seat. A full week later I get my truck back, still dirty, greasy foot prints in the driver's door jam (with scratches), a chipped (small) driver's fender at hood seam, loose driver's seat bottom, tire pressure indicator light, and spongy brakes. For the light problem, they replaced a switch for the diff lock in the rear axle. That appears to be fixed now, but obviously these guys have no respect for a customers vehicle. I really don't ask for much, just would like my truck returned to me in as good a condition or better than I pass it to them in.

When I lived in Ogden I was treated like crap at Ken Garff Pontiac (I was driving a Grand Am). I needed a window regulator to be replaced (mind you the window was stuck in the down position and it was January in Utah). They told me they couldn't get me in until about 2 weeks later and wanted about $450 to fix it. I asked what I could do to get the window back up and was told that it wasn't that big of a deal and to put some plastic up to cover it. I ended up going to the Chevy dealer who replaced it that same day for about $200 less than the Pontiac dealer wanted. They proably thought that I was just passing through town (I had Washington plates) and that I would go somwhere else to get it taken care of. They were jerks.

When did you live there?
I was there during the 2005-06 school year at Weber State. It was ok, had fun playing hockey and snowboarding but I had a girlfriend who got me to come to Chico to finish school. So I came here, and now I'm single.

It's worth the drive to SLC for routine work, and oil changes. Ken Garff is a bunch of assclowns.

I grew up in North Ogden, and now live in Farmington.
