Stewart Nissan is a good dealership??!!?? I beg to differ. Unfortunately I bought my truck from them. The ONLY reason I did was because they had the exact truck I wanted. Central Carolina Nissan didn't. But anyways, here's the horror that is Stewart Nissan. I went there to look and see what they had on the lot and fell instantly for my electric blue 2wd crew cab LE. I test drove it, loved it more, and told the salesman I would be back the next day. Now mind you, my salesman was superb, it's the sales manager that was an @$$hole. I went back the next day at 0900. Went straight to my salesman, and started to deal. Now my truck was an '05 leftover as there was a fleet of '06's sitting right next to it, so, having worked at car dealerships before, I thought, let's make a deal. I had edmunds and consumer reports printouts on what the dealer invoice was, the TMV price, the whole 9. I also had the KBB report on my trade and I had the genuine bank issue NADA blue book with me. First order of business was the deal. The salesman assured me we could knock a few thousand off sticker based on the fact it was a leftover. The sales manager came back with a sheet of paper with the sticker price written on it. I laughed, thinking he was just playing hardball, not realizing he was serious. So I dug out the printouts, and offered $500 over invoice, which was about a $3k drop from sticker. He came back at me with FULL STICKER PRICE again. Now I was starting to get annoyed. Again I offered $500 over invoice. Again he came back at me with full sticker. What an idiot I wthought to myself and asked if there were any reasonable individuals in management. Amazingly, the assistant sales manager was reasonable and agreed on the $500 over. Pretty much told him I won't pay full sticker for a year old vehicle, and he agreed. So that was done. Then came the 2nd horror of the day:negotiating the trade. I had an '01 galant, fully freakin loaded, lowered, racing exhaust, intake, lots of custom work done to it, in near mint condition. KBB said my car's trade in value was $4200, NADA said $5500. I figured somewhere in the middle because of all the work done on the car. The head sales manager took it out for a spin, mind you he gunned the SOB out of the lot, I wanted to kill him, came back and offered $1k! I looked him straight in the eye, showed him the printouts and he said that they were irrelevant due to the modifications. I agreed and told him if he want's to go that route we can add another couple grand to the blue books to compensate for the extra equipment. He said $1k. Tried to tell me that the mods make the car appeal to a much smaller segment of prospective buyers. I agreed, but then proceeded to inform him there some 80 thousand of those buyers stationed a couple miles up the road at Ft Bragg. Asked for his assistant again. After a lot of haggling I got $5k in trade. Went went into the finance office, that guy knew his stuff, and got my paperwork done.
Now, I eventually got what I wanted, but, it took a grand total of 10 HOURS to get it done. That's right, I didn't leave there until 1900! They tried to keep me there longer too so they could clean it up and give me the tour of the truck. I told my salesman nothin personal but f that. Took the keys, took out my leatherman, removed the stewart plate from the front and plopped it on the sales managers desk right under his nose. Then I peeled the stewart nissan sticker off the back and brought that in and stuck it to the plate, got in and left. Needless to say, I go to Central Carolina Nissan for everything now. I don't care that I have to drive 45 minutes to buy an oil filter, stewart is not getting any more of my money.
