That dealer will get sued at some point. If it is a NISSAN dealer doing this they have everything to lose. There is a huge liablity with salvaged trucks. I know that yours was in good shape but it may be damaged and cause you to wreck. You can sue the hell out of the dealer! I use to do the same thing with salvaged motorcycles until my shop owner sat me down and explained what liabilitys you the person saleing the bike/truck have. Even if you signed a paper says that the dealer is not responsible they are still responsible and will lose in court.

Yeah...the only way to avoid that is to have every vehicle inspected...that's really the only way to ligitamitely do it and that's what he does...it's not the same guy that sold me mine though...nah...it's some down south dealers..privately owned things....I don't guess you'd really call them dealers...more like used car lots...lol

yeh my last vehicle as the stealership put it " what a piece of crap " and they ended up selling it at an auction becasue, they said it was too much of a liability problem.

yeah....they book value on mine was 20k...plus it only had 8000 miles on it...so it was practically new..I don't get that either...4x4 is way more expensive than 2 wheel drive...4x4's usually hold their value way better than 2 wheel drives too..try finding a 06 4x4 KC SE 4.0 for that with 8000 miles on it

I know I wasnt comparing apples to apples. I was just stating I paid less. Yes, I only have 2wd and he is 4x4 but I have a crew cab while his is king cab. I also paid a couple thousand less.

Well in a way comparing the price you paid for any vehicle is apples & oranges unless the vehicles have the same packages, mileage etc... Even location has something to do with prices as well...

wes_337 asked for people to post deals that could beat his deal.

I was comparing the salvage title vs. clean title more so than the 4x2 vs 4x4 anyway.

Of course a 4x4 is higher to begin with than a 4x2, I believe its around $2700 list price difference between the exact same truck just going up to 4x4.

So using that as a basis, wes_337 got a pretty good deal on his truck in relation to mine when you consider that it only has 8,000 miles and is a 4x4. Thats basically a brand new truck!!!

The only catch is the salvage title really. As long as wes_337 owns the truck for a few years its no big deal. But if he were to try to trade it in right now, I don't think he would get anywhere near $13,000 with a salvage title. I truly believe that I could trade mine in today and get what I paid for it and could do so for a while seeing as how I have a clean title with nothing on the record that it even had wreck history in the past.

Its all good though...
In the end it doesn't matter as long as everyone is happy with their truck.

If there is any apples & oranges comparisons going on here, it is comparing the value of a salvage title vehicle to a vehicle with a clean title. There is no comparison.
