Baker Jackson South & Sterling McCall Nissan Dealerships

Hello, I'm David. In this thread, you'll see how I liked this dealership and didn't like the other dealership.

At 7 or 8 PM of, February 28th of 2008, I decided to visit my local Nissan Dealership (Sterling McCall Nissan). From the look over the freeway, it looked as if they had the biggest inventory in Houston, Texas, for Nissan Models. Drove through the entrance and fell in love when I saw a 2008 Majestic Blue 4 Door, 2WD, Crew Cab LE, Short Bed. I drove around the dealership trying to search for a parking space. Finally when I found one, I walked up to the truck I really, really wanted. Soon, a salesman walked up to me and asked me if you would like to test drive the truck. I was like sure, handed over my driver's license so I could test drive the vehicle. The location of the test drive was an empty private parking lot. I loved the handling, loved the interior, and of course the exterior. After at least 10 minutes of cruising around the big lot, it was time to return. During the trip back to the dealership, I asked what was the price, and the salesperson kept replying, We'll discuss the price when we go into the office. I was like in my mind, DUDE THE FREAKIN' STICKER IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR EAR!! I asked him again, he replied the same. Oh yes, the truck was around $28,000 or $29,000 I mean come on, it's right there. When we returned, we parked outside of the entrance to the inside of the office. I didn't have much money at the time, so I was going for $490-$515, 60 Month Payment Term. "I have a low weekly paycheck, I have to go grocery shopping, and pay my house payments, so that was only I could pay", I told them. I kept dealing and dealing and they would always go higher than my wanted payment term. They finally popped in $475 for 72 months. I said that was too long, 6 Years to be exact. I asked them to go $500, and they replied, "Go lease." That got me irradiated, and I left right after they said that. They kept giving me the deal $430-$435 while I was walking towards the door. Took a last look at the lovely truck, and drove off. Every day and every night, they would call my cell phone and home phone. Sometimes even mailing me special deals, of course that still wouldn't convince me of coming back to that horrible service.

One week later, March 7th of 2008, I found a Nissan Dealer (Baker Jackson Nissan South) about 30 minutes away from me. I was like heck, let's just give it a try. Making the right turn in, I saw a truck that was exactly the same at Sterling McCall. Almost all parking spaces were full, and I thought to myself this place might be where I will be driving off in a new truck! I went to check out the truck, it was beautiful. Truly beautiful, I went around to look for a salesperson. One finally walked up to me and I pointed out the truck. He was very friendly. I asked him for the price and he quickly responded and looked at the description sticker to help me point out the options located on and in the truck. When I went into the office, I saw lots of glass rooms. I was like wow, professional? Yes, professional. The truck didn't have any accessories in the bed. The official deal without the accessories in the bed was $23,300 drive off price. I asked and convinced the salesperson to install a bed divider with the drive off price of $23,300. Got him, and got the price. Now, just going to the financial office, I got the payment of $514, 60 month payment term. As I walked out to my truck, I was very happy and called my brother to pick up my old Lexus so I can drive my Nissan Frontier back home! The manager and salesperson was standing out by the truck holding the keys. During the talk about the drive off price, the salesperson gave me a piece of paper about the bed divider installation so I could get it installed tomorrow morning. The reason of tomorrow morning because the Service Department was closed. But, as I walked up to the truck I saw the bed divider and he said, "We got it in for you." I was so happy. I'll be posting pictures of my truck tomorrow.

Thanks for reading,
DuckyDuck

I recently bought Window Deflectors from them, I wanted them installed by them since my truck was in service. The charge for labor was $190 without tax, and tax included was $277. I was like, forget that. But yeah, Baker Jackson is indeed very nice and friendly!

not to point out the obvious, but you got the same deal at Baker as you could have gotten at sterling mccall (assume you had taken the 425 at 72mo deal).

514 x 60 = 30840

425 x 72 = 30600

its a game dealers play.......you should never tell them what you want to pay, you should negotiate the price of the vehicle.

An example of this would be; You negatiated the truck for 23300 drive out, well at normal loan rates of ~6% for a 60 month loan (these are the current rates of my 3 CU's right now), your payment would have been ~450 per month with a total payment of right at 27k.

but in the end, none of it really matters as long as YOU are happy with the deal.

theyre in the lower front control arms and allow for adjustments to be made to caster and camber and allows me to give a much better more precise alignment
