No, mine are right against the frame. As far as I know there is only one way to mount them, unless you were to drill different holes than the ones provided. Here is the only other picture that I have. If anyone needs an under truck shot I can get one tomorrow.

My mistake, it is mounted the same. They looked like they stuck out more in the previous picture.

Jim's Sliders work awesome as step bars and do a great job fending off car doors too. I had mine Line-x'd so they are nice and grippy to step on and the finish won't chip or wear over time. The only downer is they weigh a ton (~125 lb total both sides), but thats the price of strength.
