For $9 it's not worth the time and cost to return the product.

This is really just a matter of principle. Members here mobilized very well to give EZDown a big push and sell a lot of units ...

but only for 10% group discount ... when I could buy it individually on ebay for 20% off?

Bah!

I bet they'll make it right.

I haven't been on this site in a few days, and as I see, people can order this guy. But it sucks about the Ebay being cheaper. I probably will just get it through Ebay, cause they ship USPS to HI. We all thought we was getting a good deal damnit.

Plus it was dark out by the time I got out to install it, so I didn't get any good pictures.
I installed mine today. Thanks for listing the required tools.

Just installed mine last night. As you can see in the above video, the tailgate will fall a short distance before the ez-down starts to work. This is due to the release tab on the shock being loose and allowing the strut's top mounting point to rise when the tailgate is closed. Any of you with them installed can see what I'm talking about.

They should find a better way to keep the top of the strut stationary on its mounting point, then there won't be that initial drop.

I actually found that mine had popped off after a few tries because the retaining clip was loose and all but came off. A couple zip ties will fix that. I also suggest putting threadlocker on all bolts during the install.
