For those with Titan Spindles....

The caliper mounts are the same correct as frontier correct? Or do you guys switch over to the Titan Brakes?

Ok, so we all know the brakes arent the best on the Frontier. Looking at the 08 altima I am driving currently, I think it has bigger rotors then we do.

My thought process is if the spindles have the same mounts, we frontier owners could potentially use the new (2008+) Titan calipers, with some custom made rotors, and get a serious brake upgrade.

The 2008+ titans require 18" wheels to fit their brakes....and the titan guys LOVE them. so I'm thinking it might be a upgrade....

Will our master cylinder have enough power to use these brakes? I thought this was a concern that Rendalson (sp?) said.

Yeah PRG said he needed to upgrade the master cylinder after the install on his wifes xterra. He uses the titan brakes and bolt pattern. Give him a call I'm sure he'll have some advice.

Haha if you think that the brakes on the Frontier aren't good, you haven't been driving something with drum brakes in the rear for the past four years.

Just to clarify, the question is, can you swap just the Titan calipers and custom rotors onto the Frontiers?

Side Note: How does this swap compare to Stillen's Big Brake Kit? Did they kinda do the same thing or what?

Correct, that is my question. For the fronts, its about $735 in parts, for the full swap.(calipers, rotors, pads etc) Now obviously we cant use the titan rotors, so I would get some custom HAWK ones or something, still not too expensive.

I think the minimum requirement would be 18 inch wheels....but I could live with 18 inch NISMO wheels or something.

Just to re clarify= The titan guys are swapping in 2008+ titan brake systems on their 2004-2007 titans, and claiming the new ones are amazing. Now imagine if we put 2008+ titan braking capacity on Frontier.

I never tried using the frontier spindal and rotor with the titan caliper, my hole point off switching it was to get rid of the gay 6 on 4.5. I think it's a little different not sure though, and yes your peddel will not be the same as before. It's a little on the soft side, but my truck stops just as good as stock with 35's on it.
