Pretty mcuh the only places I would use a highlift would be on a Shrockworks/KMA bumpers or rock sliders. I also have been highlifted on my tow hitch once.

You cant use any stock lift points.

I've got two 12" long 2x4's behind the back seat because I've never used the factory jack and have no idea if it's tall enough anymore.

But only just barely, once I get to the 33" tires a 4" block will not be enough.

Anyway, I figured that I would post a quick thread reminding folks that if you do lift your truck you need to make arrangements for your possible jacking needs. If I'm the only moron that did not think of this, then shame on me

Also wondering what others with lifts have replaced their jacks with, as I am now looking for a better option then the block of wood.
This is actually one of the first things I thought about after I lifted the truck a couple of weeks ago. I just picked up a new jack at walmart last night... $35 more bucks, but at least I know I won't be stranded if I blow a tire! Actually, I have yet to even try it with the truck to see if it gets the tires off of the ground. I know that even our 3-ton floorjack at work barely gets the tires off of the ground, but I'm not sure how high it goes. Guess I better check that soon...

Mustard has got it right, the Wzrd always carries some 2X6 boards nailed together one set of two and one set of three, they are also angled cut on one side for lifting one wheel up on hard surfaces, on soft surfaces, you get a better jack angle, and more square inches of stable lift surface whether it's mud, snow, or sand.

ok, so that is already my temporary solution. The block of wood (trimmed down from the scrap fence post) fits nicely behind the seat. I did tear up my step rails at URE last weekend, but banged them back into place until I can afford a set of schrock sliders. Wheels are on backorder, and once they arrive the tires will be next purchase. I guess all I can say about the Nissan step rails is - better them then my rocker panels!

Sounds like the block of wood is the best solution until the sliders go on. The good news is now I know I need it.

can use one of these like the desert guys do, but your looking at 3 to 4 times what a hilift costs.

Yea, I actually have a small floor jack in my garage, guess I should see if that will lift the truck.

In my case, I'd probably call AAA first, but you've got a good point.

I used to rotate my tires myself, but since getting a truck, I've been letting CostCo do the rotating. Call me a wimp, but I'm getting too old for this...

of course, if you guys lift using suspension componants, it really doesnt matter does it? You can jack up the appropriate A-arm up front for the tire.....and you can just put the jack either under the axle tube or under the Ubolt plates, and lift there. that stuff might be a tad higher (a 1/2 inch?) due to 33' tires...but...
