I'm about a week out from ordering an extended travel kit, don't flame me to hard as I have searched and searched long and hard. Looking for more recent first hand experience with this kit? It came down to this and the prg extended travel kit but being that I live 45 minutes away from nisstec I can save on shipping and if anything goes wrong I'm a stones throw away which makes me feel a little better. Plan to run 265/75-16 to save some mpg and $$$ unless I find a good deal on some 285s. I won't be wheeling the crap out of this thing but a few trail rides and trips to moab are things we usually go do. What should I be expecting with 600lb spring? Will it be firmer but more controlling and predictable? Or will it feel like a worn out buick le sabre? I have a 2013 sv 4x4 bone stock by the way.
Thanks everyone!
If I were you I'd just purchase from Nisstec since you can save on shipping by picking up the parts in person. You will also have the chance to ask them any questions while you are there. I've had the extended travel Radflo's w/600lbs springs a little over a year now and I love them. Ride was maybe a little firmer over stock but not unbearable and this is my daily driver.
I've had the Nisstec M84 extended travel coil overs for about 3 months now and really like them. Using the 600# springs but I do not have my Shrockworks winch bumper yet ether. I also went with the Total Chaos UCA. The ride firmed up but not to an unbearable or "holy s**t" this thing rides like a log wagon level.
I was pleased with the phone and email customer service provided by Nisstec .... being able to go there face-to-face would be a real plus.
Thanks guys, I am literally waiting until we close on our house Tuesday to order anything. Have decided to go with the nisstec radflo extended travel kit and some 285 falken at3w's. Please don't hesitate to give me a heads up on anything I should look out for when doing the install. Thanks again.
I have this same setup with a winch bumper and winch and the coilovers work great both on and offroad, i did have to grind a little bit of the coil bucket lip to clear the ball joint and i left the sway bar on at first after i installed them but the ride felt slightly harsh and tight so i removed the sway bar and the ride was so much better and i noticed that the coilovers were able to work much better both on and offroad, yeah the truck has more role without it but not to bad once you get use to it
That sale ends tomorrow, but if you email them and tell them about the house closing they may just let you get the discount anyway. Doesn't hurt to try!
That's amazing, I might have to give them a shout Monday and hope for the best. I hope they will work with me otherwise I really can't complain about the club frontier 5% discount codes.
There was at one point, with all the research I've done I've come across a few codes, this forum, an external forum and one more that I can't think of right now. I don't know if they are all active but if I put them in at checkout they drimop the price by 5%
the kit i got came with the spc UCA and i'm guessing your kit will have the same UCA what i did was move the ball joint all the way back (towards the engine) grind a little at a time then i brought the UCA down until it totally clears the bucket lip so, first see about how much if any is needed to grind away and if you need to grind any just mark the section with a marker and then grind a little at a time moving the UCA down after each pass until it totally clears (keep in mind that the section you grind will be hot so don't melt the boot when you bring it down while checking), i took about 1/2 inch off mine
hope that helps
all told it took me about 5 hours including lunch to install the whole kit front to back
Perfect, that makes sense. I'm not totally concerned about the install besides the aal but I will refer to the sticky when it comes to that. Just got to get some bigger c clamps than what I have.
Ran over to Nisstec the other day since I only live about 20 minutes from them, great people to work with. I moved up to a 600 lb spring with my radflo coilovers since I deleted my sway bar and it rides great. You'll have to join us for a offroad trail day here in Colorado with some other members this summer. Looking forward to pictures!
Will definitely have to do a trail ride this summer, we might have to start getting some ideas for places to go soon. Good to know on the 600lb springs as I was planning on ditching the sway bar anyway. Really hoping we do close on the house were selling tomorrow ( should have closed 5 days ago) so I can get to ordering that stuff. But if I have to wait a month or so at least I'll be in the new house with the 3rd car garage so I'll have plenty of room to do the install.
Well after a much to long of a wait I was able to finally go pick the kit up. Hopefully I can get it installed and get an alignment done Saturday. More pics to follow shortly.

If you don't mind my asking, what took so long between starting the thread and finally getting your kit? I ordered an OME kit early last month that I'm still waiting on. If it's a 2-3 month wait, I'm going to be disappointed since everyone in CF talks so highly of the shop.
I'm interested to see how the installation goes. I'm in Fort Collins so I like the advantage of being close to Nisstec as well.
If you haven't already installed the lift, maybe I could come help you wrench on it and get an idea of what goes into the install. I'll be flying on the 3rd and 4th but I've got a chunk of days off for a trip to Laguna Seca after that.
Sorry for the late response. I threw the front together Saturday morning and it took a few hours to do with basic hand tools. It really is pretty straight forward. Then went to do the rear yesterday and I must have misplaced my wheel lock key so that won't get done until I have time to grab another set of wheel locks and time to break all 4 off.
