I Hate Slip - gonna put back on my 265/75/16's and sell my NISMO!!!!!

How frustrating! I put on a PRG leveling kit, 2" front, 1-1/2" rear, and a set of Toya M55's - 285/75/16's on my '07 Crew Cab Nismo. Now the VDC can't handle tight turns on paved mountain roads without kicking on. The air pressure is right, the alignment has been checked twice, and no, I'm not haul'n fast around these turns. The Frontier seems to be a truck that is great as a stock work truck, or as a lifted rig for those who don't mind the sacrifice and annoyance of VDC and ALBS going wacky when they are no longer attached to stock suspenison and tires. I hoped I'd find a beefed up NISMO would be the perfect balance of street ability and mildly agressive off road worthyness.....not.

should get the nismo without the vdc option. what year is your truck? if my memory serves me right i believe the '05 models had vdc stock. our '05 xterra does, while my '07 nismo does not.

My 05 Nismo has no vdc, why don't you try unpluging one of your front speed sensors.

Sounds like you may have a code set off from the lift install/alignment. Have the dealer check it with the Consult, but if they don't find anything you may have to pay for the diagnostic time. If they find, say a Steering Angle code then it should be covered under warranty and easily reset in under 30 min. Or you could just sell it and live with the loss?

As for mine, it came with a switchable VDC (early '05 build date) also lifted with 285 mudders and no unwanted "slip"

Slip

Thanks for the thoughts and info.

It's an '07 with VDC switch on the dash, so I can turn it off. Even with it off the VDC kicks in. I think the tires are ok, but just happen to be a bad mix with the VDC. The shop checked for error codes and there were none. I'm tempted to slap on a set of used BFG's of the same size and see what happens.
