Frontier Carrier Bearing Drop

Im about to install my rear shackles/AAL, I was wondering if I need the Frontier Carrier Bearing Drop brackets? I currently have 2' blocks, a total lift of 5.5'.

i think the carrier bearing drop all depends on if you have a two piece driveshaft or not. I'm not quite sure but i know i'm gonna need one with anymore lift in the rear. I'm a 2wd auto

all 2wd have a two piece drive shaft. All LWB CC's (2 or 4wd) do as well.

if more than 2 inches than yes, and brake lines as well, otherwise it will vibrate like hell

well I'm wearing out that rubber bearing and i'm sure it would put less stress on moving parts.

Is gregs carrier bearing weld-in?

^^^^^^ i wore out the centersport without lift on my hardbody--just wheeling hard.
you may have to go custom one piece down the road if you lift more in rear.

btw did you get my pm????? no go on the 20 dollar time advance- so i may just get it done at my dealer for 40.

I spoke to Greg (PRG) about this and 5 speed manuals don't need it but 6 speed manuals do. The 6 speed is longer making the shaft shorter requiring the drop. He said I could run 5 1/2 inches in the rear without a drop kit. Not sure about the autos though.

I have found that no automatics need the drop bracket, the 6sp tend to need them with more than 5" or so of lift. I sell the CST bracket that requires some cutting, but no welding. It can go back to stock with a small plate bolted in later if need be also.
