Cool Add a body lift or go for the Calmini? Help!

What should I do? I want more lift and I don't like the ride of the lift coils that I have right now, so I'm looking at two options. The first is to get the Calmini 5" and go back to stock front coils and shocks. The other is to add a 3" body lift, gap guards, rancho coilovers, go back to stock coils, put a 2" spacer in the front, and since I don't like the look of having all that frame hanging down, get nerf bars.

This means the difference between the two options is about $380 after all the shipping charges and such. Advantage to the body lift is I save a bit of money, can buy it piece by piece (not that big of a deal), center of gravity stays lower and I end up with new shocks in the front right away. Down side is that now my hitch is no longer hidden behind my tailgate and I've got frame showing on the sides and I need to go find an old shifter to make an extension. I don't know. Any input, anyone?

Another concern is that I don't really want to have to spring for new wheels/tires at this point, and I'm not sure if that is an issue or not with the Calmini lift.

Why do you want to go bigger? Is it for looks or do you more clearance?

Would a 2" body lift work?

Do you plan to replace the bumpers any time soon?

Just for looks- I don't do any offroading (at least not intentionally). I haven't seen a 2" body lift anywhere for the 05+. Do you know of one?

I don't have any intentions of replacing the bumpers (the lift kit comes with the bumper relocations which I would use).

Why is that, Mike? You don't like your current setup with the coils and body lift combo?

I would do the supension lift before doin a body lift. Just for the fact that a body lift is a true PITA to install. It is not hard to install it just takes alot of time that is all

I like my set up.
I would like to upgrade front shocks. Sometimes I wish I went with the 2" body lift because I don't need 6" of lift.

Since you are just wanting more lift for looks you would be better off just doing a suspension lift. You wont have to worry about frame, hitch, or shifter.

I would get the BL, and a 2" spacer lift for the stock coils and shocks. I would think this is much cheaper than the bracket lift.

the Calmini 5" lift doesn't do anything better for the suspension. Jsut spaces it out, and weakens it. Does look better though.

You could also keep your wheels and just get new tires. I don't know what everyones deal is with getting new wheels.

No sir. The Calmini lift is a very nice basic lift. Even better with a few upgrade like coilovers and a leaf pack.
I wheeled with a guy had the 5" calmini and replace the front spacers with coilovers. With the frame higher then mineor anyone with a 3" suspension lift, he cleared a few things without touching the frame.
