My personal favorite sealant is Jeffs Werkstatt Prime and Acrylic Jett Trigger. The Prime has a very mild polishing agent in it (I mean VERY mild), and the combination of the two will last for anywhere from 3-5 months depending on environmental conditions, car washes used, etc. They were recommended to me by a fellow detailer and I fell in love at first use. They are stupid easy to use, and on my electric blue they make the metal flake just pop out at you. Sometimes I'll follow up the next day with a coat or two of P21S or S100 (same wax, different can) if I want that deep carnauba look and still have the pop of the acrylic sealant. Another very fast sealant that I LOVE is Optimum Car Care's Opti-Seal. It's a wipe and walk away product, and you use VERY little product per car.

As for store bought stuff, Liquid Glass is a pretty decent synthetic. I've never seen Klasse in a store near me, and I've never used it, but friends of mine who have used Klasse and Werkstatt have said Werkstatt stomps Klasse every time, and my first hand inspections/comparisons confirmed their beliefs.

Mother's Carnuba Paste. On my cobra, i use Mother's Stage system. once a year with phenomenal results. I start with a claybar, then a paint cleaner, then a conditioner and top it off with 2 coats of wax. Tax me about 7 hrs to do my mustang. and wash it it with Meguir's Gold Glass product.

With the truck, I'll probably wash it off with some dishwashing detergent and just put a coat of Mother's Wax on it. I've also thought about trying Nu-Finish on it.

Is liquid glass that pink stuff?

I use to use some stuff I bought at a car show that was pink. I think it was called liquid glass, and it worked great on my old mustang. really brought out the shine and gave it a really deep finish look. You just rubbed it on and rubbed it off.

For the lazy at heart try Eagle1 Nano spray wax. I tried it a couple of weeks ago and was impressed with the ease of application. Lots of pollen and rain now and it's holding up great. Paint still feels smooth as glass. Can be used on your windows also. My truck is silver so I can't tell ya how it works on a darker color. All you do is wipe it on and thats it. Really easy. Even if it last 3 or 4 months it's no pain to reapply. Here is the site

NanoWax® Spray

Let's try this again, since my post was deleted.

Mr CCTmobiledetailing sir. Klasse doesn't last nearly a year, it has roughly the same durability as the Werkstatt line. About 3 to 5 months. So in that respect, they are the same. However, Klasse can't touch the reflectivity and wet look gloss of Werkstatt. It's not even close. Now, I understand you have 4400+ cars under your belt, and you pretty much exclusively use 3M products. I also understand you feel that people who don't use 3M are not "real professional detailers". I for one feel that your thoughts are based solely out of ignorance of new developments in the detailing chemical world, and a complete fear of change. So, I would like to make you an offer. I will send you a 3 ounce sample of Prime, and a 3 ounce sample of Acrylic Jett (Non-trigger form because I ain't giving you a free spray bottle), all you have to do is PM me your address. If you try it, and it turns out you don't like it, then hey, everyone has their personal preferences (like, why on EARTH do people LOVE Zaino??), but at least you can say you tried it, but it wasn't your bag. In this post I will include my most recent detail job before going out for shoulder surgery. 2005 Honda Pilot, washed a grand total of 3 times, paint in pretty rough shape to start with. Process was Optimum No Rinse Wash and Shine, Clay Magic clay bar, Optimum Compound on a medium cut Lake Country CCS pad, Optimum Polish on a CCS polishing pad, Prime on a CCS finessing pad, let cure 30 minutes, buffed off with microfiber, then 2 coats of Acrylic Jett.

After:

So please, realize I DO know what I am talking about.

Does line-x count as a form of paint protection? It lasts way longer than a year

If you guys take a real close look at your clean detailed trucks and see fine scratches and swirl marks, your paint is a victim of your own creation. Any products you use that takes excessive rubbing and elbow grease to remove is damaging your clear coat. I only use products that go on easy and wipe off easy. I found that polymer products are the way to go. There are a lot of good products on the market. My current product of choice is Meguiar's Synthetic Sealant 21 2.0. After my truck is washed, I prefer to polish my truck in low humidity and cool temperatures for best results. I'm usually polishing my truck in the late evening finishing up around 1:00 in the morning. Polymer products will make your paint glow.

Anybody know if Klasse can be put on without buffing the whole vehicle out?
I just waxed it (like 3 weeks ago) and was wondering if the Klasse will work over the existing wax.
Then I don't have to strip the fresh wax all off before trying the Klasse.
Todd, I'm no expert but can tell you the instructions for the Klasse all in one say it removes old wax. Still, I'd be leary about how well it does it. You just wipe this stuff on and off with no dry time . I think I'd strip the old wax with detergent first and go right from scratch.

jjski78 and cctmobiledetail. Please play nice or don't play at all. The OP wanted to know about what products people use and why they use them. Please direct your posts toward that subject. Thank you.

It can be put on after washing the truck with car soap, don't strip the wax off first. In fact their is absolutely no need to ever strip your wax off, it will deplete over time by washing your truck regularly, whatever wax you choose.
