I had the same thing happen to me. Clay worked OK, but Goof Off worked very well, give it a try, I bought it at Lowes. I bought the liquid kind not the aresol, although both probably work the same.

berrymans brakecleaner spray on rag and whip away. just try it. better than moms spit.

you can also try to use meguairs cleaner wax.it may take a couple tries.

except brake cleaner will take the clearcoat right off too.
