Mud Mud Mud

Alright went mud riding today since it has rained all night and all day and it went well. Problem is I had to get out once to help a buddy and got mud all over my boots and yes I got it on the carpet.

What is a good product to get most of the coloration out of the carpet? I tried Oxy Clean stuff in the spray bottle but it didn't get all of it.

I dont know what color your interier is? I know with mine (black interier, black carpets) i ussualy just wait a few days till the mud dries and vac it out real good. That works good for me, and my carpets dont have any stains or anything on them.

I have rubber floor mats that keep mud and snow from messing up the carpet.
There is an excellant post in the detailing section by CTC.

This is the post:

interior cleaner

This is the good part from cctmobiledetail:

Your welcome ... I also should say that I apply the shampoo with a pump up sprayer, like a garden sprayer to get some water in the vehicle to make the shampoo lather up, let sit awhile while I clean and protect the seats, etc. then vacuum or extract the dirt and excess water out.

I've also used my pressure washer inside vehicles if their carpets are full of gook , so soak them then poured simple green , etc. and scubbed the crap out of them , then extracted, etc.......you wouldn't believe what I've seen in cars, ugh ... it's nasty, usually in mini vans where the standard answer is to my question about the interior " Oh I've got kids" , and I look at the drivers seat and area and think , but don't say , yeah you've been letting your kids drive your car because the drivers area is the worse !!! It's amazing how jacked up some people let their cars get ! I've found rat nests, green goopy gunk that smells like you know what, carpet thats matted down with grease, suckers and candy melted into cup holders, stuff I've found under seats was enough to " Make a billy goat puke" !!!

anyway, just use a little water with your shampoo to help it spread and clean better !

if worse comes to worse, take out carpet and take to a pressure washer to it and it will all come out. then let it dry for about a day or two and all will be good.

I have a truck. It gets me from A to B. Why I spend so much money changing it, I will never know. Is there a cure for this disease? I have no idea what I would be using all my money for if there was a cure.

The carpet is grey and most of it was on the rubber floor mats but in my attempt to pull my buddy out of a ditch I stepped in mud and wasn't paying attention and well here I am. I think I got most of it out.

Simple Green and a scrub brush works wonders.

A few years ago my son was sick so we gave him some kid's night time cold/cough medicine . . . . the RED stuff . . . . right before bed time. He woke up in the middle of the night puking all over the place, on beige carpet no less. We immediately cleaned up the entire mess, or so we thought.

The next day we noticed an area we missed on the other side of his bed, you know the side away from his bedroom door. Apparently when he woke up knowing he was going to puke he was disoriented, puked on one side, got out of bed on the other side and ran down the hall puking the whole way to the bathroom.

Red stuff on beige carpet dried in equals nasty. Simple green and a scrub brush removed every bit of the stains even after it dried on for almost 24 hours.

We swear by the stuff.

while on the topic of Mud..... I suppose you all know that in order to get mud off from inside your wheels wells, etc. the best thing to do is to Spray wd-40 in the wheel wells before going muddin'. The when your done, it comes off so much easier !!! ( Old timey Wheelin' Trick )
