Thumbs up head light cleaner

i just found a new product to remove the old dead yellowed plastic from headlights for less than $10. i heard about it at my oriely's store. i went in to buy the permatex kit and went to pay for it when the cashier told me to use OFF with DEET. believe it or not it really works. and when paired with a clear plastic polish like mother power plastic or meguries plastix it leaves your headlights almost as clear as new. just spray it on lightly and rub it with a microfiber towel. I dont know who ever figured it out but props to them.

Are you guys joking? or is this for real? I wonder if it works and what would happen once the "off" washes away.

off / goof off. I had a pair of headlights i wanted to black out. that stuff ate the plastic. It was like pure acid. i dont know what DEET is, but the standard off and goof off. eats through plastic.

The best I have used on yellowed lenses has been toothpaste to clean to like new and then use a product called Plexus. It comes in a blue aerosal can and is the product used by the military to clean the windows on the B-1 and such. It is really great and lasts as long as a wax job. Be careful on the "glass" lenses since they are not really glass and can scratch very easily.

They're talking about bug repellent, not Goof-Off or Goo-Gone. DEET is just the actual repellent in the mixture.
