I guess I could buy just the clay from Griots Garage, but I think they want $20 or something.

By the way, I bought some Turtle bug and tar remover and wow -- it works great. It's thick, so it sits on the bug and floats it off without a lot scrubbing.
Man you should have just bought the kit....I have not seen the clay a la carte. Plus, the difference in just buying the kit, you probably made up by driving around everywhere.

Ha! Yep, you're right on that I'll bet. Time to bite the bullet and buy a kit.

Plus that Mother's Kit is pretty good. I used the detailing spary and polish and it worked great after using the clay bar.

Clay bar is the way to go. Just use a very thing spray on wax like car brite's spray and shine to lubricate the follow with a regular wax job and it will be smoother than the day you got it. Using a clay bar over a whole truck does suck, your just lucky it's a frontier and not something like a Dodge Mega-Cab or something (took me 3 hours to do one at work) Anyway, if you want smooth paint and don't mind spending an hour to get it, it's well worth the effort.

I highly recommend using Zaino. You may pay a little more for it, but it is one of the best products I have ever used. Lots of guys on the Z forums use it and the results are spectacular if you dont mind spending a few hours doing it. I recommend buying the kit I linked below. It comes with a claybar, car wash, car polish, scratch and swirl remover (works wonders on black), and a detail spray. Let me know if you have any questions about it or the process about using it.

What do you guys (gals) use to get the paint smooth? (which wont hurt the clear coat)
I wash mine twice before polishing

Meguiars wet look polymer sealant (clear coat safe) and smells great to!! lol

I also use Meguiars aluminum polish on the sports bar and chrome..
