best way to get mud off your engine/ underbody

im not sure if theres a thread like this or not.. but my truck is covered right now. ussualy i leave it muddy fora few days then wash it. last time i washed it it took forever... had to wash about 3 times to get all the visible mud off.. i just sprayed the underbody with the hose the best i could. whats the best way to get the engine and underneath the truck clean?

I don't think there's a best way. Just get under there and start spraying the sh!it out of everything with the hose.

Cover all electrical stuff with a plastic bag and shoot everything under the hood.

Take off your wheels and get your rotors clean also.

I don't think waiting a couple of days is good for your truck, either. IMO

underneath = occilating sprinkler. put the front of the truck on ramps first, then get a soft brush on a broom handle and scrub what you can reach. make sure you're not parked in the driveway, unless you like that mess all over it.

i dont have a jack or ramps...im borrowing my buddys jack to paint my wheels.i think the deluxe package at the carwash has an underbody wash i never take it to a carwash though... i wonder if that would get the underneath all cleaned up? its pretty bad right now... under the hood i was thinking about getting the pressure washer... when i used to detail we never put anything over the electrical stuff and we just put degreaser on then pressure washed it. why dont you think waiting a few days is good for the truck?

you can do it without ramps. they just make it easier.

just take it to an autobell the sprinkler thing probably works, you could water the yard at the same time, that's conserving water right there
