before waxing...
Does everyone here strip the wax off your trucks before adding a coat, or just simply go over whatever is there. With the impending weather coming fast, I would like to put a good coat on for salt protection. If you do strip the old off, do you use dishwashing soap (dawn?) or some other product.

I have heard of many people using Dawn dishwashing liquid to remove wax but I have also heard that it won't remove synthetic waxes or polishes. You could always use wax and adhesive remover if necessary. I would also recommend you use a clay bar before you wax your truck. That will make the surface smoother and cleaner for the wax to protect.
