Before, during, after Waxing

I've been reading many topics on waxing and found some good stuff to go buy.

1) What steps should be taken before waxing?

2) I have meguiars nxt generation tech wax paste should I use it? Why/why not?

3) This will be my trucks first wash, should I wax it?

4) Which type of pad should I be using while applying wax?

5) If you didn't recommend #2, which wax do you? Where can it be found?

6) What steps should be taken after waxing?

7) What should I prepare for the next time waxing?

I've done waxing before, but since this is my first brand new car, I want to take extra care of it.

I'am going to pick up some 303 aerospace today as it seems most people use it for interior, which I also want to keep in top condition. Thanks!

meguiars is great stuff, but use the cleaning wax first, then the gold paste, the next gen. tech wax. wash truck first then start waxing. the 3 coats of wax make the paint really smooth. It takes me roughly 4 hrs to do the 3 stage wax. but it keeps my red paint looking really rich. but afterwards i dnt anything except buff the swirls out. you get the meguiars waxs at any auto store

Clay bar should be used before any polishing or waxing.

I've seen this before.

I have a buffer, should I apply the wax with my hand, and then use the buffer to buff it out? Which speed should I buff it out at?

It's been awhile guys.

I used the Gen X Meguires and applied by hand and buffed out by hand
Was a quick job and it turned out ok
I wuill however say that I am going to Clay the truck and then give it a full good waxing.
I was told by a friend that dteails show cars that the Gen X that you get in the can not the bottled stuff can be left on over night and then taken off
Oh yeah one last thing
give your wheels a good hit with Quick Detail Wax spray and then the brake dust will just wash off when you squirt them with a good high pressure hose
