1993 Mazda RX-7 Orange Peel to Perfection

So my buddy asked me to come inspect his car and work my magic. So i drove down to brea and checked it out. He painted the car the right way, but what i think was a major cause or orange peel was the fact that he did it out of his garage. Anyways.

I get there and notice the entire car is covered in orange peel. After speaking to him about it, we decided to wetsand the entire car and start from there. That process took about 2-3 days and it was time for me to work my magic.

The next weekend I show up and pull a 10 hour job on his car.

Products used:

Makita 9227c w/ Megs Wool Pad @1500RPM
Meguiars M105 Cutting Compound

Follow-up:
Prima Swirl w/ PC @ speed 6
Prima Epic - Wax / sealant

Interior:
None, because there is no interior! Just cage and 2 seats hah

Enjoy!

These were the tail lights I posted few weeks back:

The whole car looked like this:

Me doing a test spot with the PC and Orange Pad - Wasn't happening. Had to move to the rotary.

Hood test:Before

The Final Shots:

Thanks for looking.

Adam

Thanks BLKFRONTIER for always being the first to respond to all my details haha.

And thanks to the rest of ya. yes, rx7's are great cars. They take a little more TLC then most cars, but if you treat them right, they'll do the same back. They have such a bad rap for people not knowing rotary engines. but, more for us who do! heh

Cheers,
Adam

I like shiny cars, what can I say. One of these days I'll tackle something like this but till then I'll just respond first and drool over your pics. Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Yes, black sucks, but its my fav color and I love to work on black cars only. probably just because you can tell when your correcting it compared to other colors.

trying to get a detail business going, but I'll just work by word of mouth right now till I can afford to be bonded and insured. Im sure CCT knows all about that.

Cheers,
Adam
