Using Rockford Fosgate factory speakers with Aftermarket head unit

Anyone know if I can use a wiring harness to connect an aftermarket deck to the rockford fosgate speaker system that came with the NISMO package?

I have a 2006 NISMO Crew Cab and was planning on upgrading the head unit to a Kenwood DNX-7120. The unit is pricey and the total investment would be pricier if I had to upgrade the unit + speakers+ amp+ wiring + etc... all at once.

Any experiences with trading out the factory Rockford Fosgate deck with ANY aftermarket unit and still retain use of the amp and speakers??

Thanks for your input, the help is greatly appreciated.

I guess it's just the two of us at this dance... but I was able to call crutchfield and ask them if it would work. I was told yes there is a harness. He gave me the "crutchfield" part number but I lost it! Ha ha. I'm told either PAC or Metro are the likely suppliers of the wiring harness.

I plan on updating the deck soon, so I'll post again here if it works fine. I might have an installer friend drop it in so I don't screw up the gps antenna positioning and do the grounded e-brake trick for full time operations.

That would be really handy. Thanks for the info. My main concern is gettin that damn amp to fire up without problems. The install is gonna be a few hours away from my home and I would like it to go smooth.

here are the colors and pin numbers for the two plugs that go into the RF amp.

and i did not have to do anything for the amp turn on wire. some have said that it uses like 8-9v to turn on and that the 12v for a aftermarket hu wont work but it did work for me.

Hooray! I ended up going with Crutchfield and did the install on Thanksgiving day. (insert grateful joke here). Unit looks great and the speakers sound incredible with the new unit. After tweaking the crossovers and the audio settings, I'm in love...

The speakers run fine with the factory amp and aftermarket deck. I did all the wiring with the harness and hooked up the amp turn on lead as well. I SOOOOOOOOOOOO recommend upgrading the head unit to enjoy the rockford fosgate speakers better. I'm not inclined to upgrade the speakers and amp one bit.

...well, not just yet >: )

Can you still use the steering wheel controls for the stereo?
