Ok, so up front, sorry to anyone that refers me to a previous thread that I may have missed, I've spent a TON of time going over old threads and am just looking for people to share their experiences.
I'm planning to install the pre-fabbed Crew Cab specific under rear seat sub enclosure that I've seen more than a few manufactures offer. These usually seem to have an advertised volume of .5-.6 cu. ft. I plan to use a 10" sub. I'm looking for people to share what subs they have used in these enclosures and how well they have performed. If you've been able to install another pre-fabbed enclosure under the seat I'd like to hear about that as well.
I'm not looking to set off car alarms but I do need some good boom at louder volumes. I still have a 10" Cerwin Vega/homemade ported box that I ran in my '06 KC, but I need to maintain the use of the whole back seat in my '12 CC. I tried an 8" JL in a ported box, great bass at low-to mid volumes but no good at louder volumes.
Thanks guys looking forward to finally having bass again
I have 2x Kenwood KFC-XW1000F in my Outlander. I put them in a box in the back not under seats or anything but they do happen to be low profile and meant for 0.6cft boxes which matches what your looking for.
I admit the first pair did blow but they were replaced under warranty without issues.

My favorite sub was a 12" Kenwood Excelon dual voice coil that I had in my Ranger. In a bandpass box, that thing had deep rolling bass perfect for the west coast rap beats of the 90s.
I'm pretty sure I still have it in the garage but it wouldn't fit under the rear seats of a crew cab anyway. That thing needs so much space behind the speaker and a lot more space than the under seat space provides.
The rubber surrounds on it are probably dried up too.

I've been a fan of the Pioneer shallow mount subs. I had 2 of the first models they came out with years ago when shallow mounts really hit the scene in a home made box in a regular cab Silverado. One of those eventually made it's way into my first Fronty in a home made fiberglass/wood box modeled after the larger crew cab storage bin. It sounded nice, but could have used a little more air space. The 10" would have been a better candidate.
Don't expect much out of a single slim 10" in a small sealed inclosure. Clear bass at highwe volumes will likely be the weekest attribute of this setup regardless of what model you end up with, but it would fit the bill perfectly for casual listening.

2-8" L7's in a 1.3 c.u.ft ported box under the back seat (it sits up a lil bit). both subs on pass side with the port running across to the drivers side and exiting forward. anyone who hears it and asks what I got they never believe me that there only 8's

JL Stealthbox hands down. Worth the money IMO. When I had a moment of weakness and bought a Tacoma, I didn't want to spend the $700 for the Stealthbox for it so I bought this setup from tacotunes that used a Image Dynamics 10" sub. Sounded ok but nowhere near as good as the JL.
I found my stealthbox for my 05 Frontier on ebay for $449.

Yeah I found this out in my '06 when experimenting with different setups. While I do like to crank some metal and hip hop, for the most part it is casual listening. I just remember a Kicker in a sealed truck box that I had in my '02 that totally blew me away, haven't ever been able to get that back 100%. I do like the look of the Pioneer that 06blackse pointed out though.

So your box takes up the whole width of the cab underneath the rear seat? Custom box or is there one commercially available?

I came across this one through my research, it goes underneath the rear driver side seat right? What are you driving it with? Hard for me to think about spending that kinda scratch though...
