Sub enclosures

Does anyone know of a sub enclosure that would use a single sub, 8" or 10", that would fit where the tray is under the rear drivers side seat on the crrew cab 2007 model? I have seen the ones that replace the tray on the passenger side. I would love to keep my large tray.

There are some pretty slim subs out these days. I believe JL has one and also Pioneer that are super thin.

You are probably going to have to make your own.

There was plenty of discussion on this in past posts. But I know the old "Do a search" line gets really aggravating.

The problem isn't fitting the sub, it is the airspace requirements. Not to say that you can't get creative and design one, as there have been some pretty creative folks on this board. But this will definitely challenge your creativity. Look at a sub with low airspace requirements, design a box with those specs in mind, and post your results..... who knows, you may end up inventing something that you can sell to the rest of the members on this forum.

I did some measuring back there when I installed my sub. As I recall, you have over 4.5" of depth (as the tray sits now). There is NO problem fitting a
8" Pioneer shallow Sub in there as it's only 2.5" deep and (just) wide enough. The 10" pioneer would fit depth wise, but I think it's too large in diamiter (if memory serves.). I'm thinking your going to need to make your own box though as there is nothing mass produced. ( Maybe you can just cap off the existing tray?)
FWIW: I ended up putting a 8" shallow Pioneer under my front passenger seat to retain both trays. It's a decient little shallow sub that requires only 0.15 ftcu of box and 130RMS. I did a detailed write-up here if your interested in the details/outcome.
