Pioneer FH-P8000BT

Pioneer FH-P8000BT CD receiver at Crutchfield.com

ok since the JVC is looking a little weak compared to this one as far as double din goes, i am looking into this pioneer headunit now.

Can anyone chime in to how good this one works and post any pics? The reviews im reading are good, and if it works with my bluetooth phone that would be a big plus.

It is also ipod ready so i dont have to buy an adapter, and its only $220 on amazon. Now i know it is $300+ on crutchfield, but that is with the mounting brackets and installation stuff. When you pay $220 on amazon, do you not get those things?

Im wondering this because i am going to try to get the place i want it installed at for that price, and if they go n say oh well you need to purchase the installation parts too then you are back at $300+, i want to know if they are telling the truth or lying.

As far as regular radio it looks a little confusing, but looking at the remote i could probably figure it out, especially after using it for a bit.

Hey same here, Im about to buy that in 3 weeks. I'll get back to you then. I like how it looks clean and smooth. Built Blue tooth is the main reason I'm getting because of the new law in CA. Overall my experience with Pioneer headunits has been great. Great sound and Excellent quality.

YOU SHOULD GET IT!!!!!!!

Dont let no one else install for you. Its really easy to remove the dash and get the radio out. All you really need is a harness for you car. Go to walmart and get it for less than $10 and thats all you need. You dont need any brackets or extra parts. Everything you need is included with the radio and you can you use the exciting brackets on your truck.

Also if you want to get the ipod cable get the P800BT not the P8000BT. P8000BT does not come with the ipod cable.

Is the 800 any cheaper?

How exactly is the ipod cable done?

Sorry im a complete noob when it comes to head units, that's why i dont think i will be installing it myself . I understand the cable goes to the glovebox, but is it just a female-a-usb cable? or is it a 30(?)pin ipod cable.

I have an ipod touch with the 2.0 upgrade FYI.

To me the regular radio controls are seeming very confusing by just looking at it, but i shouldnt come to that conclusion by looking at pictures.

Its about $20 bucks more expensive on ebay. I believe the ipod cable connects directly into your port. Not on the Headphone(Aux). The headunit also comes with a USB port so you can connect anything that uses USB.

ok. In the description it says it comes with a usb male to usb female so i assume the usb a-female is in the glovebox, so i can hook up the white apple cable to this then into my ipod?

I wont need the 800 then i think.

damn i have a lot to learn about these things lol.

Not sure what makes the JVC "weak" but to each their own. FWIW, make sure the cable charges and gives complete control of the ipod. Some don't. It's nice to put the ipod in the glove box and never look at it again. I rarely play/bother with CD's any more.

Thumbs up Pioneer FH-P8000BT

Thats a really good head unit and it looks good in our trucks. i put it in my 2007 se cc and have nothing but good things to say. the built in bluetooh is great to have and the satilight setting and ipod setting work really well. i dont regret geting that head unit at all. one place i didnt think of looking till just before i got it was amazon.com they have really good prices on these head units and its legit. thats where i ended up ordering it from. Also it comes with the ipod cable because its a pioneer premier. so you dont need to order another one

Punishers3: can you post up some pics of your pioneer h/u? I'm also thinking about buying this unit but can't find any local stores that have it on display to see it in person. Some nite time pics would be cool. Thanks

im still on the fence between this. I hate that there are no preset buttons on it. I could just get the JVC with the ipod adapter, since i dont need the bluetooth and dont even know if it would work with my phone.

Argh. I suppose i should concentrate on my other mods like my LED tails im planning on getting and the pathfinder switch covers :P.

screw it i'm goin for the JVC. Just looking at videos/pics of each one, i like the way the JVC looks and am a bigger fan of the red/black/silver. It just looks a lot more user friendly and i like the usb port and all in the front.

Some are sayign that the USB port in front will not work with your ipod. Im gonna see if there is a way i can call JVC or get someone who knows what they are talking about to answer me. Some say that you can use the usb port for your ipod, others are saying you need the adapter.

I just got the FH-P800BT for my birthday (man I have a great wife!!) She also got me the 2 pieces needed to add Sirius, and I bought the the Pioneer TS-D6902R for the fronts, and the TS-D1602R for the rear doors. There are a few differences between the 8000 and the 800 (Premier) model that potential buyers should consider.

The Premier (800) model has a 2 year warranty, Comes with the iPod cable, and has the ability to shut off the internal amp (nice when you power the speakers with your own amp.) Can't wait to get this stuff in!!
