PLEASE dont waist your money on that 4 way 5 way crap. buy either coax speakers or comps. that Xway crap is just a gimmick and can be put to shame by any decent 2way/coax.
X2. Well put. They will actually sound worse since there are more drivers to feed of your already limited power.

That's the D series Pioneers which are the best line they make after the PRS series which would have deffinately required an amp.
FWIW, I put D series coaxials in the rear and think they sound excelelnt. ( I'm running CDT HD's in the front to compare them with.) Allot of bang for the $ IMHO.

im thnking about ordering this head unit btu ihave a question for all the owners. When you hook up your iPod(or iPhone) how is the head units interface. Can you scroll through an artist list/song list/playlists like on the alpine? or does it just access the ipod like it was a hard drive.

I too have this headunit. The 8000 version, and it's the best aftermarket H/U I've ever owned. Mine came with the iPod cable, and microphone for the BT. I installed my microphone up between the driver's side visor and the center overhead console. You can barely even tell it's there.

When you hook up your iPod via the USB cable, there are two control options:
1.) control the iPod WITH the iPod itself <--which is awesome!
2.) control the iPod with the headunit's control interface, which is really easy to use. You can scroll through playlists and artists, and if you hit the "list" button a second time, you can quick search through the alphabet to find the artist you want. This comes in handy when you have tons of artists on your iPod.
(I have a touch and a classic, so I switch between the two control systems all the time.)

The bluetooth works great, but there is only one problem with it. If you have the volume turned up, the person on the other end can hear their own "echo" through the system. It's not that big of a deal. The convenience of it completely out weighs this. I love just getting into my truck with my phone and the radio does it's thing. When someone calls, the truck rings, and you just press the big center button to answer the call. So easy.

The radio is also HD and Satellite compatible, so you can hook up aftermarket radio tuners for more options.

I ordered mine from Crutchfield with the installation kit for $310. I literally installed it in 30 minutes, and everything fit perfectly. I also soldered on the adapter plug (because I like it done right) so my prep time was a little longer.

Here's a few pics of mine:

GEX-P10HD HD Radio Tuner

I am thinking about adding the Pioneer GEX-P10HD HD Radio Tuner to my FH-P8000BT Head Unit and am wondering if anyone else has done this yet. They say the benefits are a stronger clearer signal that won't drop in and out on you. Looks like there is a good list of HD stations in the Charlotte area (all the stations I listen to are HD now) so this could be a nice addition.

Would love to hear from anyone running an HD radio, the GEX-P10HD preferably, but any HD experiences would be welcome.

okay, well looks like know one else has done this so I thought I'd give it a try. It's a nice little integrated option to add to this HU and really improves the sound quality of the radio and hooks up in a matter of minutes.

I don't spend enough time in the truck to warrent a satelite subscription so I figured I'd give this a whirl. What's nice is that since it is a digial signal and needs less bandwidth to transmit the packet then an analog signal, it really seems to hold the station better and brings it in much stronger and cleaner. What I did not realize is that now several stations have multiple HD signals that they broadcast on top of their analog wave. So my favorite classic rock station is now my 2 favorite classic rock stations. And the urban ac station (whatever that is) is also sending out a contemporary jazz package.
