Dude I live in the OC and you don't see that many cars with bump in *** systems. and the one's you do see are the Gang banger wanna bee's cruise in their Escalades and Expedition.

Have respect for the people around you.. My system hits pretty good but rarely do I ever crank it up. in fact about the only time anyone would know that I have something going on is when some JO in a Mercades pulls up next to me with all the windows down basting some crap stock system. I gentle let him know that I don't have to listen to his music but he will have to listen to mine.

Oh and another thing if you are hell bent on installing something loud do a courtesy and don't pull up right next to someone at a light. Nothing sucks worse then someone with a loud stereo pulling up next to you listening to something inappropriate for children. I hate to see families rolling up their windows because someone has to be a ***.

Is not gonna be cheap buddy..... i would say 2 REALLY high quality 12" subs....like from JL or the Kicker comp VX. Your going to need a lot of volume in the box, it will have to be ported, and you will need a redic amount of power. you will need tto get speakers glassed into the doors or buy custom component speaker mounts. Multiple amps for your speakers alone, capacitors, wiring out you kazoo, and enough dynamat and ducktape to keep your doors from rattling off lol. for a truly HIGH QUALITY system like you want, it will have to be professionally done, and will be in the multiple thousands of dollars.....

i have an alpine headunit, polk MOMO door speakers that are co-axial but wire up with a crossover like components, and 3 10" Rockford phosgate shallow mount P3's powered by an alpine MRP-1000 amp. in my superduty

Ummm, no. JL would be exactly the wrong sub if getting loud is one of the primary considerations. Despite what the "ballas" out there believe, JL subs don't get that loud for the simple reason that they are designed to sound good. The Kicker subs (pretty much any of their lines) would do a much better job in this application, but there are others out there that I would personally choose over the Kickers.

I'll agree with the ported part but the rest is not true. You can take advantage of the efficiency of a ported system to use a smaller amount of power. If you aren't too concerned with getting into the lowest octaves, you can do it in a small box as well.

Very little reason to go with custom install techniques when installing a simple component set in these trucks. Basic adapters will cover most of the needs.

Never need a capacitor. A 2 4-channel amps would be more than enough. Nothing cosmic about that. Add in a sub amp. Still not talking about overly complicated wiring. Also absolutely no reason to get it "professionally" done or spend lots of money. Duct tape has no place in a quality install!

listen to all you guys gettin butt hurt lol. Taking my question way too dam seriously. No I am not one of those guys. Like i said in my last post. it was a joke. Only time i have my truck over 50% of volume is when im parked at the kart track, or at a tailgate.

All im looking for is an online guide that tells you what size speakers are best for certain areas in cars. how much bass should cover a certain area per foot in a truck or car, and how much power is needed for what type of speakers/woofers. explanation of ohms and what speakers are descent for those types of ohm's etc.

All im asking for.

And for those of you who did reply with usefull information. I thank you.

Adam

You're not going to find a guide per se that has the answers that you're looking for. Most of that is because there are no answers to the questions that you have. There are as many opinions on what is enough (or too little/much), what sounds good and how best to go about achieving the desired outcome as there are people asked the question.

My opinion...get a head unit that you like and does what you want it to do. Get a good set of component speakers up front. Get a solid amp (not expensive but reliable) to power the front speakers. Leave the stock rear speakers in place and power them off the head unit. The subs will depend entirely on how much space you're willing to give up. If your truck is the one in your sig and you aren't willing to give up the use of the back seat, your options are pretty limited. There are a bunch of threads and posts on how to maximize the space that you have available. If you're willing to lose the back seat, the sky's the limit. A LOT you can do with that kind of space.
