newwwbiieee

Anyone have some good references online for getting an insane system set up. understanding highs, mids, lows, how i can get my system to be like one of those guys on the freeeway where your cars is hoppin in other lanes from their system even going 75 mph past you.

Ive got an alpine x001 head unit (the ipod one), a 4 channel 400w kicker amp pushing my 4 door speakers, 250w single channel for my 12" woofer, and 4 more pioneers hooked up to the head unit. so 8 speakers, and 1 woofer.

I'd like to run probably 2 12's or 3 10's. I dont have many people in the back seat, so i can bring the seats up and replace it with a box.

so if anyone has a quite or would mind explaining to me what i need for an insane sound system for a descent price. that'd be grreat.

Adam

run an active setup. 2 12's or 3 10's is gonna be tough plus you'll be deaf in no time. plus even lifting the seats is gonna be a PITA and not give you that much extra space. i'll post some ideas in a bit.

honestly. I dont have people in my back seats. Maybe once every couple months. so 3 10's may be a good setup, i may have to build a custom box though because that little hump in the middle of our back floor board. I have of course 4 focal 6.5's and 4 holes drilled into my doors already for a 5" speaker/tweeter setup. all i need is to replace the pioneers i have drilled now with something that sounds 10x better and more $$$ and get the right amps going. i could run the woofer amps on the box itself and the speaker ones under the seat.

right now i have a 450x4 kicker amp for my focals, and my head unit is pushing the other 4 pioneers. if i buy another amp, im gonna buy 3 new ones. more juice for the 4 focals, another amp for the 4 whatevers im gonna put in the 5" openings on my doors that i cut, and one bug amp for my two woofers.

that make sense? would that be descent for my truck

To get the typ of output that you seem to want from the subs, simply lifting the rear seats isn't going to be enough. They'll have to come out. The sub box will need to be ported. You'll need some serious amplifier power. It won't be really hard to do, just not cheap and will involve some serious sacrifices with the truck.

if you cant play it responsibly, you are going to ruin the hobby for all of us. there is a $1000 fine for playing your radio too loud where i live. yes, thats one thousand dollars. so rethink your attitude for the sake of all of us.

Yeah, that is the part that has me scratching my head. Seems like harmonic dissonance would ruin the SQ

I'll be running 8 speakers...but that will be in a 3-way front stage with a pair of subs as well. Only a stereo pair playing any given freq.

More is not usually better if you care what it sounds like.
