Question New to vehicle audio = help please

hey all,

looking to upgrade the audio system in my Pro-4X and need advice/input from my fellow forum members.

these are the components i am looking at:
Nissan Frontier Kit Fits 2009-up models — chassis sizes E and DD at Crutchfield.com

Pioneer SiriusConnect™ Adapter Control a SIRIUS dock-and-play radio or universal tuner from your Pioneer stereo (Model CD-SB10) at Crutchfield.com

PAC SWI-PS Steering wheel control interface for Pioneer, Jensen, and Sony at Crutchfield.com

Pioneer CD-IU50V iPod® interface cable for select Pioneer multimedia receivers at Crutchfield.com

Pioneer AVH-P3200DVD DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com

Pioneer GEX-P20HD HD Radio™ add-on tuner for select in-dash Pioneer receivers at Crutchfield.com

but i have a few questions for all the auto audiophiles out there:

is there anything else i need to at least get this system working SUCESSFULLY in my truck?

i am assuming that the Sirius connect takes the place of an add-on radio since i have something similar to it in my home theater..

i plan on upgrading speakers later but want to at least get the head unit & other things in first - really dont need an in-dash NAV unit since the Garmin i have is fine for my needs

any help would be appreciated

THANKS

you will need a sirius tuner, as well as the cd-sb10

on crutchfield,
SiriusConnect™ Car-only Tuner Add SIRIUS satellite radio to your car stereo (Model SC-C1) at Crutchfield.com

Talk to one of the advisors at Crutchfield. I just changed out the unit in my truck and found them to be very helpful. Just tell them what the end result is that you are looking for and they will find all of the correct components.

Once he found out that I had already had a log-on name with them, he e-mailed me a link so that everything showed up already in a online cart for me.

I noticed that you already own a garmin. Why not look into getting the in-dash nav. holder built specifically for our trucks. I did mine at the same time and love the way it looks. It also then eliminates the need for a dangling power cord.

thanks guys !

may have to call Crutchfield Monday after work.

after 2 orders with Nissan i DO have the OEM nav housing (first 1 didnt fit - have a post up about it) and am extremely how it looks & functions !

figure this setup is gonna run me @ 700 w/o install but there is a shop around the corner from where i work that does an awesome jobs & gives discounts to the employees

now just wondering if the stock speakers will handle what i will be sending through them ?

My new Kenwood has 22 watts RMS and for normal listening the factory speakers are fine. However I will be updating it with new speakers this summer just to enhance the sound.

I just had this installed.
Clarion VX400 DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com
It's 499 at Crutchfield but you only need one Sirius add on (not 2) and you dont need the 20 dollar install kit because it bolts right in. It also comes with the IPOD connector so you don't need to buy that either. Bluetooth is also built in. The screen is 6.5 inches and looks factory. Overall it will cost you less because you don't need as many add ons.

I just looked at the specs for the Pioneer head unit and its's double din so I don't think you need the install kit in your first link.

Thumbs up

thanks all,

after ALOT of searching & reviewing the setup on the web , i ordered my stereo setup from Amazon this morning with 2 changes:

- i didn't get the Ipod interface cable - should be able to use the stock AUX input in my '10

- ordered the Pioneer 4200DVD instead of the 3200

everything i read leads me to believe this system should rock my KC (i listen mostly to rock & metal) without having to use an amp or sub FOR NOW

what do you guys think ?
