how much power can we produce?
I was planning an install w. one 1000 rms amp for a sub and a 4 x 75 rms amp for my speakers. I was wondering if you guys think i will have a problem pulling that much power. I havnt done any mods. Do you think i will have a problem? if so, any suggestions?

thats what i was thinking. ive also found a lot of info on this forum about doing a grounding kit. I was really trying to ask, will this be necessary? or should my truck be able to handle this load stock?

Well here are some more options. You can also run 2 batteries instead of one battery. This is an Expensive deal but worth it in my mind. To do so, you MUST buy a battery with the same CCA and CA, preferably the same brand as well.
For example, I have 2 Optima Yellow tops Another option is the alternator upgrade. I also have this done to mine. You should go to a junkyard and pull one for $50 or so from a 90-02 Nissan quest (or Mercury villager) considering you have a VG33 engine. This will produce 110 amps. Additionally you could purchase a capacitor. I drive an X so I have way more room on the inside. If I were you, I would do the alternator as to take up the least amount of room. Cheers!-James |

By my math you're not going to make that on a standard alternator, wiring and battery system with a stock first or second gen Frontier. IMHO you could get much better ballanced sound with no mods if you rethink the sub. Of course, it's your truck and your $.

Install a grounding kit. If only running one battery upgrade it. Bridge your 75X4 amp to just one good set of components up front, or run the tweets on 2 channels and the mids on the other 2 channels.

well i agree that the sub is too powerful for the speakers. The only reason I am doing this is because a friend is giving me a reallly good deal on the sub. I was thinking about a less powerful sub, but for the same price I could get double the power... still up in the air.
I have a 2006 frontier crew cab se. I am open to all suggestions, and I respect the honesty. |

if its that good of a deal put the amp and sub on craigslist or ebay and make some extra money to buy a better matched setup.
