Does aftermarket stereo kill factory satellite?

"Can someone tell me, will I lose factory satellite radio with an aftermarket stereo? If thats true, then that means I have to purchase new satellite tuner and all the shtuff that surrounds it?"

"I'm learning a lot on this site, thanks everyone!"

Yes it will but all you need is the tuner, you can mount it right over the old one and keep the stock antenna.

you shouldn't lose your Sirius/XM as long as the aftermarket head unit has the XM tuner built in and you use the right harness.
