Amps, and subs????

Would this amp:

2-Channel Amps (Total Peak Power Output: Up to 300*watts, Bass/Gain Remote: Yes) | Car Amplifiers | Car Audio and Video at Sonic Electronix

Work good with two of these subs?:

JL AUDIO 8W0-4 - Real Car Audio

Thanks in advance? If not, lemme know why it wouldn't

That amp is made to run at 4ohms bridged and having 2 of those subs would give you 2ohms if you wired them in parallel. So I would just look for an amp that is made to run at 2ohms bridged. Ex: 250rms X 1 @ 2ohms bridged it will say.

Edit-Here ya go.. Kicker ZX300.1 (06zx3001) Mono Subwoofer Amps Car Amplifiers Car Audio and Video - Sonic Electronix

Your welcome, also if you want to stick with JL I would go with the 8W3v3. They are much more up to date. Or if your open to some really nice stuff with a lower price than JL and want to stick with 8's check these out.

Image Dynamics ID8V.3-D2 - Image Dynamics Subwoofers

Eh, the box i'm building is rather small, and the jl subs i'm buying are more equivalent as far as airspace and depth... Plus, i'd much rather not drop the money for a 600 watt amp...

Those ID's only need .35 cu ft sealed and 150rms each. They are a nice sub. That Kicker 300.1 would do the job nice.

OK, so even though the RMS says 150, what would happen if i was to say... Run an amp that puts out like 600 watts max, matching the 600 max that I would have if i had two of these?

Would I get better quality from something like this, or should i stick with the 300 wat amp???

It depends on what amp we are talking. Most of the top brands don't list Max power ratings because it's not a good way to measure the power for music. SPL is different. It is always better to have too much power than not enough. You can always adjust the gain with a DMM.

Ex: you have 2 subs with a total RMS of 500 watts, your amp is rated at 1200 watts RMS. You would simply set the gain so the amp would push 500 watts @ 50Hz when the head unit's volume is at 75%.

OK, so what amp do you think would best be matched with two of those image dynamic subs that you showed me?

A class D amp that does 250-500rms would work fine. What is your budget for an amp?

A DMM is a digital multi meter. Someone you know might have one laying around or you can pick one up cheap even at Wal Mart.
