could you jack up the truck and take a pic of the bump sitting on the coil bucket.

Here are some pics:

just the bushing touching (thickness of bushing is almost the same as the remaining space between the bump stop and bucket)

both touching

different angle and closer

Tire off the ground (so the bump stop isn't decreasing the amount of down travel)

Perhaps the 11/16" bump stop would provide more dampening. I might place one of the 11/16" bump stops on the passenger side and test out the difference. Anyone have a request for this?

seems like the bushing is doing a good job of keeping the contact to a min. The bump stop is off the the side all funny. could you mount the bump more towards the center like the bushing?

Regardless this is still good sh1t. Thanks for the pic.

There is a second hole on the UCA that is closer to the ball joint, but I do not know if the wing nut will have enough room to fit, and if you intend on getting your finger in there, you'd better be ET or Elastic man.

I was considering drilling out that hole to test it, but when I put my finger up there...it didn't seem like a good idea. The opening between the plate and UCA (near the ball joint) is just wide enough to let the 3/8" nut slide in/out, but your finger isn't going to make it.

Only other solution is to use the 11/16" low profile bump stop...I might throw them on just for kicks, but BlackTigerSE has had good results with the 3/8" stop.

Wow, good idea.... I've got the stock bumpstops laying around, maybe I'll try those before I buy some new ones.

I think this thread was fine in the suspension section.

^^^I asked one of the moderators to sticky this thread in both suspension and DIY. You can still see the thread stickied under Suspension.

11/16" bump stops might be a better choice. I Pm'd frontpage on why 11/16" might be a better choice and i replied to some of the questions that were asked, he will give you the details.

Perhaps on Monday I will drill out the second holes, mount the bump stops, and jack the truck up to see what results come of it. I am concerned about the sharp edges of the UCA cutting into the bump stop, but I did use a number of washers to keep the bump stop flush with the edges to help alleviate this issue. I will also test out the set of 11/16" bump stops just to make sure.

That's actually a good idea. Just use a washer or two, instead of having to buy 11/16" spacers and cutting off 2 sides of the bumpstops. Save that $10-20.00 for a girls night out J/K
