2005 Frontier LE CC and the shift lock solenoid has died in the console. I ordered a new one ($93) and it was pretty easy to replace. As I was buying it I was concerned it might no be the issue as it started as an intermittent problem. Also these usually just don't up and die. Sure enough, it didn't help - its still dead.
Tonite I did some more troubleshooting to check the brake pedal switch etc. Here's where it gets weird: there's 13.4 V at the solenoid connector when I press the brake, so that works, but its not enough amperage to light a test light. Only seems about 45 mA. For sure thats not enough to pull the solenoid. I checked evry fuse in the truck. All good. Do you know if there's a relay that operates it? I think it must be that a relay or controller has died somewhere since the circuit still acts alive. TIA
