I've been searching the forums and cant find a concrete answer to this. Ive been reading about the radiator/ATF cross contamination and am going to replace the radiator; however, my truck has 81000 miles so the dealership will only work with a $2500 co payment if the transmission were to fail. I'm seeing a LOT of different radiators online with different transmission cooler sizes.....which one is OEM and which brand is the best for my buck? Coolant/ATF are still fine but im not taking any chances with this.

Pulling out the radiator might make it easier to put a new belt on anyways and im lookin for any excuse to turn a wrench....keep the ideas coming.

I'm planning on keeping my truck for a long time and when the extended warranty ends, I'll be looking at a different radiator too. I asked the service department at the local Nissan dealership and they never heard about the radiator problem. I then asked if a 2012 radiator would fit in my 2010, figuring Nissan would fixed this problem in later models and they had no clue.
I've been using the search function and couldn't find a direct replacement. I'll be following this thread in case someone has any better input.

wow, thats some bullshit. Nissan put out a recall on the radiator and the cross contamination has been an issue for a long time; furthermore, trained service personnel couldnt even tell you if a the radiator would fit is also a disgrace. Go to a different dealer. There's something fishy going on with those people. I plan on ordering a radiator and a fuel sending unit (SES light, yay) when I get paid ill let ya know which brand I go with.

Well since I live in Wyoming now, going to a different dealership would require me to go to SLC. Sucks I know, but I'll check back and see what you find out.

I don't know, but you could just do the coolant by-pass mod and be done with it. Plus, it's free.
I have the six speed so didn't know the trans cooler failure was so common on these trucks. That said, I would either install an auxiliary trans cooler and eliminate the cooler in the radiator or do what this guy said, whatever that mod may be. And the belt is plenty easy to change with the radiator still in.

Rollingcar-I briefly checked my belt once and it looked like a PITA but ill take your word for it. Im not a fan of bypassing, id rather just swap parts but thats just how the military has me trained....besides swapping a radiator might be some more good training before I go down range ive been getting more gun time than wrench time lately. Thanks man you always seem to have some good input.
also, a little off topic but I decided to only order the fuel level sending unit and not the whole pump. itll free up money to flush my tranny with some matic-S.
