Slapped these bad-boys on the truck this morning, figured I'd share my experience with the process. I previously had the Deaver AAL's, which sagged. I then put PRG shackles on to bring the truck back up a little bit. 2 years later, the leaves were flat, and I could see a couple of them had cracked, so I decided to fix it properly. I will apologize for the quality of some of theses photos, but I'll still post them as I hate text-only DIY's.
My springs before the install, flat-as-a-pancake.
You will need, 2XCS150R medium-load springs (or heavy), 2X OMES99B bushing kits (for use with stock shackles), and 4 Ubolts.
With the truck still sitting on its tires, remove the lower shock bolts, and crack the front leaf eye mounting bolts. The reason I say to crack these is because they can be a real mf'er, especially if your truck is as old as mine or you live in a place where they salt the roads. I think its safer putting all that force into the truck before it goes up on jack stands. (The torch was necessary in my case....)
Now, jack the truck up pretty high by the pumpkin, and put two heavy axle stands under the frame near the front of the bed. You have to make sure the truck is up high enough to lower the axle down far enough to take all the weight off of the springs. then, remove your wheels and unclip the brakes lines and ABS sensor wire from the axle, and the diff lock circuitry from the top of the differential.
Now, lower the axle until the springs are holding it up. Then put two smaller jack stands 1/2 an inch under the axle, not actually holding it up, for safety (jack still under diff). During the lowerering, keep an eye on brakes lines, wires, and parking brake cables to make sure you're not pulling on them too hard.
Then remove your ubolts and plates.
Here's the OME u-bolts next to the stockers. Much beefier! Because of this, you'll need to drill out the holes to fit the new bolts.
Now you can unbolt and remove the shackles, which should be very easy if the springs are just hanging there.
