That is pretty funny and a little unprofessional. If I go to a Nissan dealer I want nissan products.

It's a fluid that meets or exceeds some of what has Nissan on the bottle. I don't have any problems with my transmission which is filled with BG Products synthetic ATF. If anything happened to your trans due to the fluid they put in it, they would be on the hook to replace or repair it so you can best believe they would not shoot themselves in the foot.

Personally, I think NISSAN is trying to sell overpriced goods. I have 215,000 on my truck and have flushed it using the Castrol ATF maybe 4-6 times so far. The back of the Castrol bottle states it is fully replaceable in place of J-matic.

So if you're under warranty you may want to use the NISSAN fluids to protect yourself. For me I look for aftermarket products that perform as good or better. IMO the Castrol supports my needs.

I am in a similar situation as you were, My truck has 108k miles and the transmission has not been serviced. I was wondering if you have developed any problems with your transmission since you did your drain and fill. I was wondering how many miles you have put on since you serviced your transmission.

Thanks

Alright guys here's a question i'm sure i've overlooked in these 14 pages. My frontier has close to 110k miles on it, and I doubt the fluids besides oil was changed by the prior owner. What fluid would we suggest to help with such an abuse? J-Matic is the standard, with S-Matic as the synthetic I'm leaning with the synthetic being better. Anyone have a good brand on to go with not to break the bank, as well as any suggestions on what else I should be looking to change soon, or now? Oil i'm running Royal Purple, that I changed myself, got a deal with $5 per bottle.

Amsoil ATF should work.

And perhaps a cheaper alternative is Castrol Import ATF if the Amsoil is too pricey. I now have 227,000 on my 05 truck and have been using it since the first flush.

It's only pricey if you can't afford to buy it.
