Elektrikerr, from my understanding the two setups are identical, however if memory serves the 2nd gen have only 1 parking light, not two, but everything else should be the same. The only reason i had to do wire hacking was to splice in the halos & dot lights, everything else was plug and play. It's pretty simply when you stare at it and sip a beer

All of the LEDs are changable but They actually look more white then blue in person. I live in las vegas and the cops seem not to care about the lights. if you dont want the LEDs on all the time you can wire them to a switch. But one thing I want to do is open it up and repaint the lights to color match the truck also fix the projector and try to remove whatever is in side of it that cuts it off in the middle.

for the 05's there are 3 plugs, the high/low beams, the parking, and the signal. heres my first question, do i cut off the gray plastic plugs to gain access to the wires? if you do have to cut the plugs off, then so far i understand plug the high/low beams into the new halo lights plug, and lets say i take the signal plug black wire, connect it to the other 3 black wires with a wire nut, and take the three white wires and use a wire nut to the red wire, and it should all work (theoretically, right?) ..... that sounds right to me, but what do i do with the third plug (parking)? that has 3 wires, black red and green ... or lets say i connect all the respective wires to the parking light plug, id have a green wire leftover .... can someone who has installed these after market projector halo lights help me out? kinda lost .... don't wanna cut the plugs or ruin my chances of goin back to stock if i screw up ... sorry if i sound stupid or repetitive just playin it safe. i appreciate any help

........after reading the original post 1000 times, and then sitting there staring at my stock lights for hours, i figured it out. thanks for the help you guys did give tho, it all played a part in the decision of just goin out there and giving it a shot, win or lose ... you said it took you 3 hours .... took me almost that to figure out how to get the stock light out and then not damage anything!! regardless, 3 hours later, finished one, looks great, gonna do the other tommarro. thanks again!

dcobb, I'm looking to get these light simply because your write up was done so well and I'm pretty confident on doing it now. I just had a question. Comparing the OEM headlights to your projectors, did you lose the amount of lighting put out by these headlights? Did you gain more light or about equal? I really want to get these, but am worried that I might lose light output. I live out in Vegas and lighting up the desert when your out playing at night is key. Thanks in advance!

04runner, the light output is about the same, however due to a diffuser that cuts off light on the top side of the main projection bulb you loose light on the top if that makes any sense. The high beam is quite nice though and doesn't have a diffuser.
