Agreed. The fan looks a little small. Maybe a 24".

Sly Tuna, please do not take us all as bashing. but we like the work you did and try and improve on it...

What about two 14'' fans? I think that would work.

I have the same fan he has (16"), with no shroud and zero issues, so he'll be fine. I do have a thermostat. H0wever, I noticed no power increase, so maybe the mod is more effective on the Four.

I just bought my nissan, a 99 frontier xe 2.4 4x4 so I haven't really had a chance to take a good look at it, but doesn't the stock fan have an electric clutch? I mean, isn't there some sort of electric temperature sensor that engages the clutch to spin the fan at full speed? If so can't you tie the new electric fan into that? I mean, if there is an electric clutch can't you feed the trigger to the clutch into a relay to power the new electric fan which would then turn it on when needed and off when needed?

Mechanical Clutch, not electric

great info

Nice mod! Takes guts to do this stuff and come out and show us all. Some of these guys are really tough. I do think that they are just looking for the best design.

I to want to do the electric fan thing. I will use at least two fans. I will use a relay switch with an electric temperature sensor. This will allow me to turn them on if the sensor goes out on me. Once you remove the mechanical fan you have to have control of those electric fans or you will be dead on the road. I really like the 4 fan idea but start to wonder if it becomes less efficient?
