1st Gen Frontier w/ KA24DET ...?

I'm not gonna lie -- I joined this forum just to ask this question. And I did try searching. Maybe in my honesty I won't get flamed...

Anyway, I'm not new to the Nissan world by any means. I had a KA24DE '91 240sx hatch, still have an SR20DET '91 240sx coupe, and have a Z (but that's irrelevant). I love my cars but now that I'm a home-owner I think it'd be practical to have a truck for those Lowe's runs.

Long story short, if I end up buying a 2.4 Frontier I'd like to turbocharge it. I realize that the Frontier KA24 is different from the 240sx version but if I were to source the correct parts, how different would it be to install on the Frontier?

there's a few threads on this, the only major differences between the KA24DE in a 240sx and in a Frontier is that the throttle body on a frontier points upwards, plus the Frontier has another cat (from 01-04). or, instead of having the headache of going through and swapping out all of those parts, you could go to PSI MAN home page and they did a custom turbo setup. over 200 whp isnt bad for a bolt on...

Do want! However, they could of atleast found a standard transmission model instead of an automatic. I wonder how much boost the stock KA could take before popping.

these are stout little engines. In japan they use them in tractors... the KA is supposed to be more durable than an SR20DET because we have a stronger bottom end. that is a good question though... why they used an automatic and how much power it could withstand. if i could find out which guy put the V6's supercharger on the 4 banger that would be nice.

i seen PSI man's homapage like 2 years ago, its a uniuqe little truck but the automatic kills it, i think with more tuning and more boost he could get over 200 whp, not very impressive to me but it is cool to see a turbo finally on a frontier.

I have most all the parts I ned to turbo my 01 x cab auto. I intentionally got an auto, why?! Gearing in auto and manual is poor at best, 1st gear barely gets you rolling, but the auto shifts faster and harder w/o wear than a manual could. Most fast turbo vehicles (Straight line ) are auto...example?! Buick Grand National, I know a bit about those too, see sig. I agree the auto eats more power w/ ineffency, but you cant spool a turbo as easily in a manual as an auto. Oh, and 200 WHP in a frontier would wear out most street cars....I'll post pics when completed with mine.
