So, I was just curious. For how long, has everyone been 4wheeling, and what got you into it?
Myself, since I was big enough to sit in my Dad's truck without a car seat. As for behind the wheel, about 10 yrs for me. I have been doing it since I was in high school when I got my Dad's truck that I used to go wheeling in with him.

in highschool. i had an 86 yota with a 22R 2wd. there was a student lot and a teacher lot. there was a dirt road about 35' long connecting the two. it took forever to get out of the student lot after school.
one day after it rained, the dirt road was a lake. i put the pedal to the floor and made it through. some of the mud and water that got kicked up landed on an evil off-road seed inside me. been wheelin ever since.

I used to own a 1980 CJ-7 Jeep... back in the 80s and I'd take it off-road when I could. This is what I thought 4-wheeling was...
I then owned a toyota 4wd... while the axles might have been up to it... the rest of the rig wasn't... too much body rot!!!
I then got into Land Rover vehicles. The old ones... not any of that bling bling business! I had an old '62 IIA for some time, but... needed to sell her to finish college (and so I wouldn't be a slave to debt). Great old rig really. I then owned various older (1973, 198 Range Rovers and feel in love with coil springs and disc brakes... all this while becoming a Land Rover mech. for a living.
I ended up building a hybrid type beast that's been with me for the past 10 years. Sort of an old school English hybrid... parts of Series Land Rovers and parts of Defender 90s and parts of Range Rovers.... I spent that 10 years doing some serious off-roading and compitition and helping put on off-road events with the rig... only be become a bit burnt on the whole off-roading to run trails thing. I'm more into using the rig to find remote locations to shoot clays or fly fish... or whatever... as long as there's more of a purpose to the day than running trails. During this time... yep... I found out what real 4-wheeling was all about... to me anyway.
The Nismo CC was purchased for hauling gear, brush, taking the whole family (with dogs) on trips, etc. While I do plan to off-road this truck... it'll be nothing real serious. That said... I'm a big believer in "**** happens" so to properly prep. a rig can be important to prevent a situation.
So... I guess I've been wheeling for 20 years now... in various degrees
Ive been Wheeling Offroad for 8 years, 6 of which I was a spotter for friends that had rigs and did not know how to use them. the other 2 was with my new truck of my own, FINALLY>

Michael, I agree with you. Alot of the wheeling I do is just to get out there, get the hell away from people, and get out of the city. But I do enjoy running trials just to run the trail, which again leads back to my first point.

ive been wheeling for about six months (since i got my truck). I live in Colorado so being in the outdoors is my back yard. just being able to be in control and go to a lake in the middle of nowhere is all the justification i needed. and all the good parties are in the desert. but i really hope to wheel with some CF members soon so i can learn some tips and tricks.
lets see ive been 4wheeling for about 6 months , only took my dads truck out a couple times in high school and it wasnt even close to what im doin now

I've been wheeling on and off for about the last 18 years. It all started with a 1988 Ford Ranger and head full of craziness. Living in Wyoming offers me tons of trails, but unfortunately not a lot of Frontiers to wheel with.
