Well i finally got to do a year end trip with my truck!
On saturday some buddies and i headed up into the mountains.
The Grand Mesa is right out my front door.
"The Forests vary in elevation from 5,800 feet above sea level in Roubideau Creek Canyon to 14,309 feet on Uncompahgre Peak.
The Forests include spectacular features like the 355 foot high Bridal Veil falls; the Grand Mesa with over 300 lakes, one of the world's largest flat top mountains; and Alpine Tunnel, once the highest railroad tunnel in North America."

We started by going up the South side on "lands end road" which is about 30 mins from my house. A road literally climbing up the side of a giant cliff.
Once on top i made sure to take some pictures.
Here is the Road before the million switcbacks
The ridges shooting out in the backgroung are the Bookcliffs and Mt. Garfield.

Heres what they look like from town.

I really didnt get to do any wheeling because there was already snow in the high country! but i got some nice pictures.
