it should just, i would stay clear of the calmini kit. go to rugged rocks. they just released a complete kit that is much stronger. and it uses a matching front axle that matches the rear. i know you could convert to 4wd. but i don't not know enough as far as transmissions and transfer cases weather the bolt up to all years , etc.
do stay away from the calmini kit.
the RR kit literally comes with everything. you won't have to hunt for a wagoner axle or anything.
steveoo and rugged rocks is the operator/ owner i believe , very friendly and he's always answered any questions I've had regarding anything!
Sweet thanks! Will I get a wider stance than I have with a sas? If not id like to just do a nice sl lift any recommendations for a kit with maybe front shocks and torsian bars?
you'll have a wider stance slightly. couldn't give you a specific number. new wheels will give you a wider stance. and is a lot less work. since your a 2wd you could do a 3" BL.
if you want to spend money you could do a long travel kit from Total Chaos, they do long travel kits so if you wanted to turn your truck into a desert runner you could.
as far as SL if you want to keep torsion bars, go with Sway away bars.
new UCA's help with ball joint alignment but are not needed. i don't have aftermarket UCA's.
only companies to make lifts are 4x4 AC , and calmini. both are kind of shady in my opinion. products I've gotten from 4x4 AC have definitely been pretty poor. specially the BL i bought from them. i got rid of everything in the kit except 2 bolts and the pucks. everything else was literally junked because of being so poor.
calmini looks better as far as construction. but there powder coating/ paint is terrible and normally doesn't last very long. I've seen several people where i live on the east coast have calmini parts and the paint just flakes right off in sheets.
as far as shocks, if you keep the torsion bars and don't go with long travel set up. i would go with blistein. awesome people to work with. great customer support. lifetime warranty on their products too. good quality products are made with blistien.
Wow their long travel is what I'm looking for thank you! Do you know if I'd have to change my brakes and wheels? Also it says shock hoop sold separately and fiberglass fenders required thoughts? Thanks again!
You're right,I have no idea what I'm talking about. I've spent the past two weeks looking through threads on here and checking for replies on my threads multiple times a day.
Just got my first reply from this red guy who's trying to answer my questions and give his input.
NOW... '_'
Is there such a thing as a kit that will let me keep my stock wheels, lcas, and brakes but give me 3-6"?
no one said putting a solid axle under anything with a independent front suspension is cheap... that literally includes everything. the calmini kit is not far off, and doesn't include a axle.
285's are 1 total inch larger in diameter than 265s, which means only 1/2" closer to rubbing on front and rear of fender/flares. You can fit 285s with a 3 inch lift if you remove mud flaps and do some trimming. Back spacing on wheels will determine whether or not you rub on the frame.
Not like that is the point here. This guy is talking about body lifts and SAS kits like they are the same thing..lmao
its a inch taller and a inch wider thats what makes the difference, so its 1" closer to rubbing.and I'm talking about no trimming. yeah i could put 285's on my truck, but id have to cut in inside edge of the fender, and I'm not into that haha.
They are 33" in diameter. Making the radius 16.5" vs the 32s 16" radius. Meaning they are an inch total larger but only half inch per side. So if you had an inch of clearance before you rubbed your flares witn 32s, now you will only have half an inch with the 33s. I am refrencing 33s to 285s and 32s to 265 just in case you didnt know that.
