He is finally getting recognized as a real candidate and showing people really want a leader who is for the people's rights and less government control. woot go Ron!

why does everyone hate politics? I mean most people can handle the topic realisticly and Its really big with me right now. I love to see how ron paul is growing and how more and more people are hearing about him
I think people need to stop looking at republican or democrat and just read the issues. Ron Paul is basically a libertarian but has to run republican otherwise people wont vote for him just for the fact that there programed to vote repub or dem.

Well Im from Canada and not Conservative, every time I express a view about iraq/guns/politics in general I get pooped on and told that I should stay up in Canada. I am not a communist but believe in things like gov't provided health care, child support/daycare. Also gun control, is a good thing.
I like politics, just find it hard to have civil discussions/debates about real issues on here as peoples views are so unreasonable sometimes.

Well here my feeling on that, Canada is a good country but things like health care need to be privatized for the simple fact of pushing hospitals to be better themselfs. The goverment should not be aloud to spend your healthcare money on somthing else. the gov should not be aloud to take social secutity money and spend it on anything other than social secutiry. im not sure on te daycare thing. Gun control is just the simple fact that its in our constitution so they cant take it away. People need to see that guns don't kill people do. If you look at canadian crime rate, they didn't go down after gun control. Gun related deaths did but stabbing and other killing just went up. People just find new ways to kill

Canada is no model for politics to anyone in the world. Canada has just as many problems as the U.S. Of course, they don't think that. When your residents are having "lotteries" to "win" a trip to the doctor on a weekly basis..I'd say something is wrong. We won't get into gun control again, because it doesn't work, and I proved that in the last thread with statistics from countries who have enacted gun control policies and have seen murder and crime rates rise substantially more than those in the U.S.
On the subject of Ron Paul, I'm glad he's becoming a top tier presidential candidate because Hillary Clinton is an idiot, Obama is a wolf in sheep's clothing (in my opinion) and Giuliani and McCain are both too busy trying to ride the fence to find any real standing in anything. Ron Paul stands for what he stands for. The only thing I disagree with Ron Paul on is legalizing illegal drugs. For that reason, if I had it my way, I'd vote for Mike Huckabee..but he is even more unknown than Ron Paul. So we'll see what happens. And Phil, just so you know, just because we disagree on political issues doesn't mean I dislike you or anyone else who disagrees with me. It's politics, it's meant to make people disagree. I hope you feel the same.
