You should travel the country claiming to be a rain-maker....sell some snake-oil while you're at it!

The same thing used to happen to my boss whenever he brought out his Snap-On tools. As soon as he'd open his toolbox outdoors, the skies opened up and blessed us with a downpour.

Hey, you have figured out my secret weapon. Whenever we really need rain, I just wash my truck....Don't tell anyone!!!

If only that were the case, lol...but it does seem like it...

It has been said washing your truck is better than a Navajo rain dance.

Josh, I thought you were in the snake oil business... oh wait, you sell cellphones, right? That's different, right? LOL!

I usually wait until it starts raining to wash my truck. That way, I don't have to rinse, lol.

I worked at a california car wash for a year and half while in high school. Whenever it started raining hard and it looked likely to continue doing so for the rest of the day we sent everyone home and closed up the place. I was amazed by the number of people who would still drive up and want to get a wash when we were closed.
If your truck is going to get rained on, however, it is better to have had a wash a good new coat of wax prior to the downpour to protect the paint from the cr@ppy rain water. plus the water should bead up better and make it dry faster after the rain. Living in Seattle for the last few years has made an unofficial rain expert out of me. Unfortunately most people go the entire winter season without washing and the cars get really filthy.
