Showed up at work today to see a shiny new Taco doublecab longbed in the lot (there are only 7 of us and now 4 of us have new truck in the past year...I started it all).

looks like a nice rig, then I remembered one thing I hated about it when I sat in it...seat is low to the floor, feels like you're in a car.

looked it up on kbb (curious abot sticker/invoice) and the kbb expert advice saiys that you 'may not like this truck if...you've driven the ridgeline or frontier and like their carlike ride...the tacoma still rides like a truck'.

I've lost all respect for their reviews.

anyway, we now have an '05 Fronty (mine), '05 F250 supercab (my boss), '05 Dakota club cab V8 (my other boss) and an '06 Taco doublecab (co-worker).

and yeah, the co-worker is kinda the preppy type (or is that called 'metro' these days? I cant keep up with this crap, I'm just a backwoods technohick)

Unfortunately, most of the guys around here just slap on really loud Flowmasters and call it a day. These are usually not diesels, though. Actually one of my best friends drives a lifted Ram with a huge CB antenna on top. He lives in the city and is about as far from redneck as you can be. He definitely wouldn't fit with the Dodge fanatics in my hometown!
not sure the exact HP but its over 600hp they are both gonna get Dynoed at the truck nationals in PA this weekend they are both running twin turbos now and sometimes they run NOS.

I saw some show on Speedvision the other day where they were tricking out a Dodge diesel. They added nitrous, propane injection, and reprogrammed the ECU. They may have messed with the super/turbocharger too, I can't remember. Anyway, their dyno only went up to 1200 ft/lb of torque and that thing maxed it out. It looked like so much fun.

I don't know squat about big trucks, but people keep telling me that Tundras are posers. "A truck for white-collar yuppies," my friend said. What's wrong with 'em, exactly?

Thumbs up Taco's are too... bad

Tacos have had one up on the Frontys until the second gen came out. I'm in a club of Jeepers and Taco's at first it was Nismo???? But now there believers they think the Fronty is the real deal. Now I get goaded about when I am going to mod it. Anyway follow this link to the Nor-Cal Taco assoc to see some fun off road pics! http://www.norcalttora.com/gallery/

Cheers

The people I know who own Tundras love them. I fthere's anything "wrong" with them, it's their 7/8th size and Toyota's going to fix that in early '07 with a new full scale Tundra that'll go toe-to-toe with the big boys. Toyota's success is making headlines lately and the '07 Tundra will probably extend the trend.
