North Korea is not as scary as some may think, with thier largest ally (china) calling thier actions Braizen(SIC?)....
And you are right to call me cynical, I have a great distrust for most people, hell for humanity in general, I also believe that there are no selfless acts... so I dont mind that at all.
on the best and brightest thing, that I am going to expand on...
What do you expect, this country praises morons, some of the wealthiest people in america are also the least educated, pick your sports star, I am willing to bet most of them dont know what the square route of 9 is, all you movie starts, pop stars, etc... the people who are praised in this nation, dont need to use thier brain, except to remember how to pronounce a large word on a script. or to know how far to throw or kick a ball, or know the scales on any given instrament...
name popular scientists who are currently alive, most would struggle with hawking, let alone the thousands of scientists out there doing amazing things, with research on everything from discovering "
nano bacteria", to how big is the universe, and how much of it can we see...
if I asked the same question about pop stars, sports players, or actors, most could produce quite the lengthy list.
BTW, the title for this thread is one of the things I consider to be a HUGE problem, People cannot blame themselves for any of thier actions, it is always someone elses fault, and not thier own.

It's the only part of our environment that has been common to all humans, wherever and whenever they've lived on this Earth. So that makes it rather special. Whenever we scan the sky, we are partaking of one of the very few things we share with all human beings. "- Martin Rees
