Angry Road Rage

So this morning, I had a crazy person chasing me onto the freeway in rush hour traffic so she could honk at me as she drove by and then try to cut me off to merge onto the same connector ramp I was on...

She was going waaaay too fast on a road by my house; I turned right in front of her but got out of her way pretty quick (thank you Frontier!). The road by my house gets right onto a freeway here via two right-hand turn lanes; she tailgated me for a sec and then got over into the far right right turn lane, ending up stopping right next to where I was in the left right turn lane. When the light turns green, she doesn't even try to get in front of me... she just pulls straight into the side of my truck, like she's going to cut me off! I'd been keeping an eye on her as I'd already pegged her for crazy, luckily, and got out of the way, there was no one next to me to the left so I swung into that lane and got in front of her, while honking... and she has the nerve to honk back! She proceeded to try to cut me off all the way up the on ramp and got behind me; as soon as we got on the freeway I sped up and got the heck away from her...

I thought I was safe for about twenty seconds, and then she swoops up next to me in the fast lane honking her horn, then tries to cut me off AGAIN to get all the way over to the right...

Luckily, I'm a good driver, and very aware, so I already had my escape zone and took it. But I just couldn't believe this woman!!! I didn't even make her slow down when I pulled out in front of her to begin with; she almost side-swipes my poor truck; drives like a maniac to catch up to me in rush hour traffic, and for what?? So she can feel superior by honking her horn at me?

I should have let her hit me before we got on the freeway.... then HER insurance would have fixed it AND she would have had some sort of consequences for being insane...

Anyway, just wanted to share because it was crazy... luckily I didn't see her after we got over the bridge to merge onto the second freeway.

Anyone else have any crazy road rage victim stories to share? Has to have happened to you or someone you know... none of those stories that were on the news... or are you uncontrollably filled with rage of the asphalt yourself?

I can't believe a woman would have the nerve to do that unless she was like some of the women here in Hawaii who can barely be reckognized as being female. (I'm talking about the many 300+ pound hairy faced Samoan women we have here) I learned my lesson about 15 years ago when I got a threatening letter in the mail from somebody . It said,"You pissed off the wrong ***** this time you effing Haole (Haole is what they call caucasians out here) Cut me off ever again and I will kill you" She had my name and address so I'm guessing her or her other half was a cop. I do my best not to be a prick driver like so many other people are but $h!t happens. I must've been not paying attention because prior to getting that letter I don't remember cutting anybody off but I must have if I pissed the person off enough to get a life threatening letter from her.

WHOA!!! that's crazy... some people are just insane... it's crazy that someone in law enforcement would send a letter like that though, you'd think they'd know how wrong it was.

Keep it comin'!

Usually when I have someone have road rage and try to cut me off and all that fun stuff. I get behind a 18 wheeler and slow down behind them. It is all to much fun to see them try to cut off a semi and all else fails I get on the CB and tell the trucks what is going on. That is a fun one there. All in all I am never in a hurry to get anywhere. I think that is why people have road rage with me. But hay I only use the fast lane to pass and I usually in the slow lane. So what is the problem

That lady sounds pretty crazy.
Next time, let her hit you. I had a dude tailgating me years ago so I hit slowed a bit to let him pass, but he stayed behind me.... so I sped up... still there.. finally I just hit the brakes... pretty hard actually... he tried to avoid me, but hit me anyway. I told the cop I was braking to turn and he had been close to me. He got a ticket for following to close, I got nothing.. except some free work to the back of the car.
I wish I could get someone to mess w/ me in the Frontier. I could use some new bumpers, door panels etc. Ha.
My only exception to messing w/ road ragers is if I have the kids in the truck w/ me. Then its all off.
Just my take. Sounds like she would have gotten a ticket for the lane change thing, and on the highway... speed, unsafe driving etc.
Good for you for doing the right thing and being the better... uhh.. woman about it...?.. haha...

Nice one with the CB TX;

Yeah; I was thinking about it after I got away from her finally that I should have just let her hit me. Makes me wonder how many times she's done stuff like this to people she feels totally comfortable side-swiping and chasing people down... maybe a little hike in her insurance and a ticket would have changed her mind!

The only thing that still worries me is; the way she was coming from is pretty desolate. Which means she lives near me!!! Haha... hope I don't run into her again!

That is just crazy.

Here is one. I was riding in my brothers truck and we pulled out onto a 2 lane road, the speed limit is 45. About 10 seconds later after he had hit 5 over the speed limit someone starts honking and riding his tail. So, my brother does the usual, slows down to the speed limit and that really pissed them off. They tried to pass but too much traffic on the other side. About 4 miles down the road he pulls into a gas station and the turn in behind. Now, mind you, my brother doesn't f*ck around and will whoop some arse in a heart beat. He calmly says to me this is about to become someones bad day. As he gets out of the truck to pump some gas the car pulls up on the other side. It is a car full of teenage girls. He turns to me and says "you got to be f"in" kidding me. The driver gets out and she is partially deaf, you could tell by the way she was yelling. My brother and I start to laugh but then realize what was going on. He calmly walked over to the passenger side window and told the young girls that they should be more careful, I could be some nut job with a gun and do something really bad to you. You could tell he had somewhat scared them because they didn't expect him to come over to the car. He was right about one part though, he has a RTC permit and keeps his .40 on his hip at all time. I am glad they didn't see it or they would have crapped their pants.

Seems to me that females in general are getting a little more vocal and acting more manly in the last 5-10 years when it comes to things like this.

I have had my fair share of RR incindents, and I've been on both sides of the fence. One time I was on my way home from work and a mustang pulled right out in front of me with texas plates. I honestly wasn't angry but lifted my hands off the wheel and mumbled a "what the hell was that" to myself. Well, apearently the guy in the car saw me do this and the next thing I know he was next to me. There were 3 20 something guys on spring break from Texas shirts off music loud...you get the picture. Well I live not too far away so I when I headed towards my road they followed me. I quickly pulled into a gas station just incase they were going to try and follow me home. Well when I stopped, know that these idiots had no fear, I knew if I didn't do something quick I would pretty much get my butt handed to me. I reached over and opend my glovebox and sat there as the passenger walked up to my window. I kindy told him he might want to stay back unless he wanted me to get waht was in the open glove box. He got close enough to peek in and see the open box and changed his tune and backed off. Lucky for me they only muttered a few things and took of, but I must say my bluff worked like a champ. ppl are straight nuts sometimes.
